Is it like u submit one piece? Or can i do a characterdesign and then add an illustration for it so that in the end i have the character design and the illustration for it ?

How exactly weighted is the "Country" theme? For example, how much creative freedom do people have to come up with a character?
I.E, for people who love dark fantasy with like, elves and dragons and what-not, would merely having your selected "Country"'s flag colors used in the design qualify?
Also, where do mythological nations fall under this theme?

Is it all right to use a country that does not exist presently? Like USSR, for example?
If so - how far could one go in history? Ottoman empire? Byzantium? Roman empire?

@marc Does my character have to fully consist of the flag colors, or can it have a badge, patchwork on clothing etc. with the flag on. Also do the designs have to be more modern or can it be historical or mythological?
