What is the ART WAR? It's the biggest international (See eligibility) character art competition for 2D & 3D artists where you compete for the title of "ART WAR Champion" and epic prizes.
BRIEF
The art community's ultimate character contest begins once again...
On the verge of the year 2021, heroes carrying the pride of their home country have started to clash in an all out ART WORLD WAR! As artists, your mission is to help your side win by designing the most epic champion this world has ever seen.
Which nation will you fight for?
RULES
✅ Choose the country (real, current day) you'll represent (does not need to be your native country) and design a 2D or 3D character to represent it in the ART WAR
✅ This is WAR - Your champion should be depicted either attacking or defending!
✅ Clearly incorporate your country's flag colors and cultural identity in your design - it should be very obvious where it's from
✅ 80% or more of your champion should be visible and unobstructed in your submission
✅ Your champion can have weapons & tools and can be human-monster-creature-ethereal-elemental-undead - almost anything goes
⚠️ Failure to follow any of these rules will disqualify you from winning
🛑 No political or religious symbols
Example: you could have a giant elf ice wizard representing Canada with a moose-inspired outfit, with prominent red and white colors, maple leaf patterns on parts of his outfit and have him use maple syrup as his mana potions.
To enter ART WAR 5:
Create a free Cubebrush account (if you don't have one already)
Visit the contest sign up page here and "Enter the Contest" to automatically create your forum topic
Post your progress over time in your own forum topic, entries uploaded last minute (within the final week) will not be considered, this is a community-building event!
No art recycling, your entry has to be new and made specifically for this contest
You can only submit one entry (2D or 3D)
No teams allowed
Keep gore and nudity to a SFW (safe for work) level. If you think you'd get in trouble if your boss looked over your shoulder and saw it, then it's probably too much.
Tag us with #ARTWAR when posting about the contest on social media so we can help share the amazing art you create!
Make sure you submit EVERYTHING required for your chosen category (2D or 3D) to avoid being disqualified
To submit your entry:
- Click the "Submit Entry" button on the first post of your topic
- You can submit and update your entry multiple times until the deadline
- Update often! When you do, your entry gets bumped to the top of the main contest page!

JUDGING
Judging will be based on how well the topic is represented, overall quality and skills displayed as well as the "wow" factor. The panel of judges - game & film industry pros - will be revealed soon!
