@dreamsequenz it is better to follow the rules and make the best piece you can! Not following the brief is definitely seen as a flaw by the judges and it will prevent you from winning.
@moirae it is in the brief, under the Judging section. And as was said before, anyone who doesn't follow the rules will be disqualified from wining.
I would prefer to not spam this topic more than necessary. It's possible judges either interpreted a particular pose as defending which you didn't, or maybe they found a piece so exceptional they wanted to highlight it despite the flaw - I wouldn't know as I am not a judge, nor a part of the judging process. But in the end, they carefully chose the winner which they considered the best, according to the rules, the brief and their high standards.
If you want to participate just for fun and not follow the rules, you are free to do so. We will not ban you for that, or prevent you in any other way. However, any entry not following the rules will be disqualified from wining.
