@zinc Oh god xD the implications.
But yeah @grigouips you're rocking this! Looks awesome man, instant eye catcher. Maybe you can push the disgust by making certain areas look overly squishy? Pushing blobs and sinews is always how I've done it v('-' )v
@aveon Thanks man for the kind words and feedbacks ! I'll think of it when detailing the arms and legs ! I think i have some references that could fit what you are saying - and i think i can insist on this even more with texture ! :
This said, i slowly started head retopo.
@zinc She is. Her boyfriend, Justin Biebeberserk, went with Selena Gromelsh. Not any chance.
@benzychan thank you so much man. i definitely try to stay out of the main trends. I usually like weird stuff and i'm glad you like her ! This said, if you haven't, go have a look at The Witcher III bestiary, which is very rich and deeply inspiring !
Tried to make some clothes blockouts tonight, and brought 'em into modo. Still very rough at this stage, but at least it gives me some ideas to make them properly.
@grigouips sorry I'm late back to the thread. No worries man! Call it counter productive to my chances of winning (haha ), but there's an interview somewhere on the interwebz with the artists that did the goblin king in the recent-ish hobbit movies, where they talk about the reference they used to make him repulsive (and how consequently "iron" their stomachs got form it haha). It may help give you ideas for high quality reference and implementation. Hope that helps
Also I think her clothes atm covers too much of her strange form, unless you pose her really hunchback-like
And another paintover for tonight. Wanted to see if the silhouette still respects the concept... @aveon it looks like you are right... she looks too "normal" at the moment, which annoys me a bit. I'll see how i can fix this ! Thanx for the goblin king ! Totally forgot this one ! Gonna check this out again ! Cheers !
@fantasymaster , i think i cannot expect better compliment ! Thank you so much and have a good sleep. Cheers!
Wow! Great work. Love the sculpt details, but, overall silhouette is a little bit boring. She now has big and small shapes, but lacks medium elements. I would add some details to her clothing, may be some huge amulets/sculls, or energetic effects, or poaches on the belt. Just something to make her different, not ordinary.
Thanks guys, so much.
@maxloegler i will !
@acap yeah man i have to figure it out. Not sure about the clothing yet, really want to keep her silhouette disturbing. And for the details, yes, i totally agree. This is in the plan
Finished head retopo and UVs (modo tools are really awesome!) so i quickly baked a normal map and played a bit into marmoset.
Well, that was a good sunday ! Didn't move from my computer
@maxloegler many thanks man - let's make fantasy win !
@zinc PBR Powa bro
@independhans Hope so ! Thank you so much !
@jeebs no it's not you, neither bake polys. It's just marmoset's cheap shadowmaps creating issues sometimes. I just activated HighRes shadows on the new screens and it's gone (almost completely).
Had the total day free, so i spent it on mari and textured the head. Was wondering about final look so i did render tests in marmoset and modo. Same maps, but different lighting and setup. Quite happy with the result, i am now thinking i should remove the hood, and let the head more visible, with very few white hair...
