Ok, so this happened to me and like. I think this is important to discuss namely because i don't want anyone else to have the same reaction I did,
lightning emblem itself is, when used thoughtlessly, can yield unfortunate results, like
Making your character look like a nazi. Like, even if you didn't mean to, or intend to, it looks like that. ( google search ss symbol so you know what im talking about

im putting this out here mostly cause like, if you're sensitive to this topic like me, its going to Suck when you make your character look like a nazi by slapping a big black bolt on their arm-patch. I felt kinda mad at myself for not noticing before I posted my art, so what i hope to get out of this is just to save other people from that "Oh sh-" moment i had. :joy:

you can avoid this by distorting the shape of the emblem to fit your design, as you're allowed to do- Its just the problem is: Its a Bolt Emblem, you have to be very careful how you use it

Anyway, i hope this makes sense, or that someone finds this helpful!

+1 to this post. This is actually part of why I decided not to go for Lightning team, I don't feel comfortable using the emblem as it is shaped very similarly to the SS symbol, and in black or dark colors it looks indistinguishable from a distance. Decontextualized from Art War especially/posting on social media. I am wondering if would it be possible to change the team emblem at this time? Many lightning symbols use 2 bends instead of 1, or are wider at the top.

Even if this maybe true, i managed to utilize it i think in a creative way where it doesn't look like that symbol at all. Just saying there are exceptions i suppose and it has to be well thought out i think.
Here's is a w.i.p. preview (not really done messing with it, hoping to get something decent.)

But i agree it can appear that way, this issue seems to come up a lot when these contests start. Glad i wasn't the only one to notice and bring caution to a sensitive subject. Good luck.
