FINAL I WORLDS I 2D | Village of Ironwoods | Misha Oplev

Viking village built on an old world. Using the left over elements of bloody battel , they are merging two worlds in two one to survive brutal winter.
I wish I could animate this. Battle horn is calling all warriors of Ironwoods village to battle. Tribal hollogramm is in the sky , and brave men are marching towards there destiny.

And Finally this adventure is over. This was loads of fun. Mainly because I could meet so many awesome dudes in this community. We survived! Even with loads of freelance work , or school , or day job. We all finished! Great job guys!

Well , 20 days left. I have a little bit of time to spear now , and hoping I can finish in time. Village of crow riders will have fantasy elemtns and sci-fi elements. Vikings will be using antigravity rocks that dropped out of ships , some of the metal parts of crushed ships , and some teq to keep there houses warm. Mostly aiming at a simular atmosphere than my previus peace , but a little bit more moody. Sorry for my english , my native language is russian. If you want to follow my process feel free to join

Here is my first concepts of potential compositions , and brainstomring on general look of the houses , no sci fi elements added yet. Maybe will add some floating houses in the sky ? Not sure how they use the magnetic rocks.

I focused on mixing the elements that i liked in my thumbnails. And tried to add the sci fi element. I experimented with mood and composition , need to make my final desissions and design choices. Need to design the ship and more detailed mix of sci fi with viking village. Not sure what they use from the alien race and for what task. Heat ? Milking cows (not likely? Energy source ? Thoughts ? Heh

DAY 3.
DAY 3 VzhOoooOm
"Moments , before the big caboom"
Well, if you remember in my last sketch we had some kind off space ship in the background. Here is the design of it. Plain and simple , looks like a bean that had a baby with a bee(-: The ships version called 3-B , or , BBB ? Anyway...Tomorrow we shall begin messing around with the location of the collision between ship and the land near Viking village. We can track the trajectory of broken off parts of the ship , and how Vikings will build around it. Hoping to explore more in to the concept of that ship... Sadly I have only 2 hours per day to work on this challenge. But hey , that enough , right ? xD

After a long day I tried to get my crazy scientist coat , and calculate the trajectory of this freaking ship. Hahah this was fun , but really really weird. If you are patient enough , follow the arrows to see how the ship crashed. This solves a problem where the parts of the ship are across our location. And tomorrow we can finally arrange stuff , and start building the village around this mess! Well, if you are waiting for amazing illustration work soon , forget it xD We are designers right now , solving problems like real concept artists.

DAY 5
Pushing from my fisrt sketches of arcetecture I created this rough light and shadow studys. Stylized look feets the narrative. And soon we should be exploring the "merged" houses.

DAY 6
Well , those little blue things inside every house are anti freeze units that ship had under its first layer of protection. Those things kept the ship from freezing in space and in extreme conditions. They don't heat up . They keep molecular rhythm in the air above freezing. You know that temperture is caused by maleculas moving faster and faster or slower and slower. And those units cancel that in the right way. Also they have a bit of an anti gravity effect and maybe that's how they function , who knows , need more thinking and researching.
When aliens crashed , the outer layer of the ship got damaged , and off course those units fell out. When Vikings saw that nothing freezes in the radius of those "totems" and snow ❄ was elevating above them (due to the antigravity effect) they started dragging the machines inside there houses.logical ? Just babbling right now.... so yeah , it was fun deconstructing the buildings. Off to bed now !

DAY 7
Designed the village from the top view. Now I know EVERYTHING heh And I just noticed , that mountains look like snakes. We may name them something epic ? Any suggestions ?
I placed village in between the "snakes" so the wind doesn't affect the crops that they are growing during the summer. And also , maybe they can store there harvest in the ship? It's fire proof , mouse proof , and hit proof . Seems logical! The village has : 39 houses ,213 people , and only 12 roads . I'll be explaining there everyday life soon!

DAY 8
Spent most of the day in the hispotal. No time for desinging, only for a fast mood painting. How was life before the ship crashed ? How did vikings observe the great battle in the sky ?

Had My wifes birthday , so , had about 1 hour to design . Here is potential aliens from that ship!
