Hi everyone, I'm Giulia from Italy :pizza: :sparkles: . I've taken art more seriously in 2017 with a three-year course of game concept art but sadly the teachers didn't taught well and left myself doubtful about the field. After graduation I've tried to respark my motivation and tried the Drawabox course, which I'm still doing today, to strenghten my art fundamentals. I decided then to go with a more structured approach and here I am. I'll try to upload my progress as regular as possible. I'm excited to embark in this new journey and meet this wonderful community  ! Cheers :sparkles: !

Welcome! Wishing you a better experience this time around.

Welcome to the group! I look forward to seeing your progress!

19 days later

Hello again :sparkles: , it's been a long time. I decided to start the first term's perspective assignments and did the 1-point exercise. Now I'm doing the 2-points exercise that is still a wip but will be finished soon.

1-point

Here I did my sister's room with a victorian spin to it, nothing too fancy cause I wanted to prioritize main volumes instead of details but placed them to create some context. Here is the process.

2-points

Here is my wip for the 2 points, there are a lot of proportions that are probably off . The distance between windows, the shutters, the balconies and the stone border of the windows were probably the trickiest.
The right side of my building is a little larger than the left one but I don't know if stretching it now will be useful. I'll try to do it when finished.
Feedbacks and critiques are more than welcome
I'll update more next week (or sooner) with other assignments of the term!
Cheers :pizza: :sparkles:

I love your work so far! Your lines are very clean and detailed. And welcome : )

Wow this are very well done! I really love the bedroom, a lot of love went into this! I especially love that you can feel the roundness on the little bugs! I look forward to seeing the finished 2pt!

Hi, thanks guys for your kind replies  , I appreciate them a lot :sparkles: ! I finally finished the 2pt perspective and I'm impressed, probably a month ago I wouldn't have drawn something like this, so I'm satisfied and will probably make another study in perspective.

Since I used something like 20 layers only for the constructions of the objects I'll show an example of how I tackled an object.
The more pronounced blue lines are the one I constructed for the store sign and once I had them I would redraw the object on the lineart layer. I applied this to every object I faced.

The rough sketch construction

And this is the complete lineart of the building, was super time consuming but next time I would like to apply different line weight to create the illusion of volume.

Aaand since I wasn't satisfied enough I decided to paint the values (left) and then apply some texture and lighting to create a more realistic and aged building. The lighting in this was not calculated precisely and some shadows are obviously eye-balled but I tried for fun.

Well, this is the update of week! I'll focus next on gesture drawing and photoshop assignments, hope I deliver them in time ehehe. Thanks for the feedbacks, always welcomed! See ya next week!
Cheers :pizza: :sparkles:

Giulia this is fantastic! You absolutely knocked this out of the park. I think this is one of the best studies I have ever seen for this assignment. The values on this take it to a while other level. Keep it up!

What, really?? Thank you very much, you are so kind T - T ! It means a lot to me since perpsective is one of my weaknesses.

Hi guys, I'm back :sparkles:! During these days I've tried to keep up with the assignment but didn't meet my expectacions, here is what I did. I skipped the first assignment cause I wanted to try all the complete construction.

CONSTRUCTION W/CYLINDERS

I did more than 10 lol

PROPORTIONS

About the proportions of the body I had to recall all of my knowledge about muscles, didn't draw humans for a long time. The blue one are with notes and the other are almost from memory, only the last one is totally from memory.

GESTURES

And now, the gesturessss! Only did two days but wasn't enough, I'll try to do more

FIGURE DRAWING

Also here, didn't do what I expecte, had a lot of issues with the visual measurement

Here's the rest of the assignment (I've reached the limit in the previous post) :skull:

AAAND FORM IMAGINATION
I've tried to test my rusty memory and did a couple of bodies from imaginations, some are a bit broken, lel.

Well, that's all for this week, see ya next time ppl. Cheers :pizza: :sparkles:!

These are really well done! Great perspective on the cylinders and the curves look really clean and well done! The proportion exercises look fantastic! I can't comment on the muscles as I am not at that point yet but they look really well done! The gestures are looking good! Lots of energy and movement! Do you always do 30 sec poses? You capture so much in 30 secs I would love to see what you can do in 1-2 mins. Measurement assignments are looking good to! Great work! Keep it up!
