Hey, dudes and dudettes
Got some comps for this week's art challenge. The picture is meant to depict N'zoth, an Old God from the Warcraft universe, in his prison... hidden away... and he's dangerous... so he's a hidden danger haaaaaaa! anyway c&c pretty please!
I think I might like the comp of the 3 the most but 2 also looks really good. Flip a coin to choose...just kidding but those are the best in my opinion.
haha I couldn't decide between 2 or 3 so I did end up flipping a coin... to best 3 of 5 lolAnywho, here's an update on the WIP.
I think it's close to ready to take to the colouring stage. Any C&C would be welcome, thanks dudes and dudettes
I personally think you should work in B&W a little longer and also work on the flow of the painting a bit more as well. The two tentacles towards the bottom feel a bit broken in flow and the armored parks look a bit odd. I like the towers in the painting but the tentacles are what I think need a bit more work. Also take you time working on the forms as well. I think the top part of the tentacle(armored part) in the bottom right corner breaks the composition because of how it is turned/warped. It pushes your eye off the page because the line it makes is curving outwards instead of inwards to direct the eye towards the head of the creature. The head of the creature is the focal point an you don't want things pointing you somewhere else. You did a good job of having some of the tentacles point to the head. Overall it's looking good. Maybe you need some more lighting in some areas but you can work on that more in the color step. Just focus on the values and the forms for now. This is looking really cool and I look forward to the next update.
Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback, Malcom.I didn't really notice the bottom right tentacle, but I see what you mean, I'll definitely touch that up, as well as giving the armoured bits and the other two tentacles some TLC.Much appreciated
No problem. Just glad to help.
