Sorry no one replied earlier @amorsea19022

You can absolutely study by yourself.

It depends on what you are interested in sketching. But since its game or film. After looking at your works I can recommend a few courses and books and videos.

These two books are worth every penny. If you want to learn to story board or animate scenes you will see everything basic principle you will need to know here.

This one is about drawing

When I went to school, they just made us buy this book to learn story boarding and scene composition. At first I thought it was lazy, but then I read the book and everything I learned in art school was in there. I wasn't a fan of the art but the theories of composition were all there.

The system that you choose can take a few different paths. It depends on what you are drawing and where you are drawing. Digitally or in a sketchbook. If you look at this series on youtube about famous traditional and digital artists sketchbooks you can see how differently they approach having fun and sketching for work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzK4OGSXSWk&list=PLSyQ0NEnXiTQnuAKfU73WGPqAU8QxVd4K

For most of the courses the answer is yes. They will cost money. These are principles and theories that artists learned in school and dont just tell anyone. They will charge anywhere from 5 to 25 dollars to teach you the theories they know, but charge you much more to critique your work.

This course will help you understand what you are sketching and give you a basic system for drawing forms and placing them in an environment.

This three part series is great for learning a system to sketching.

I think a lot of the knowledge we draw from these days comes from this series. The boss of all bosses. The teacher of teachers. Must watch.

These systems might be explained differently but many of the theories are the same. This amount of money is nothing compared to what the lessons are worth. This kind of stuff didn't exist when I was younger.

Hello @brohawx , thank you very much for your suggestions. This information is very important to me, and I am eager to learn more to make myself better.

At that time, I was desire to improve myself, so after I asked the question, I used the money I saved to buy a course that taught basic perspective and structure. Now the course is over. I am currently a freelancer, but the case will end this mouth.

I used the knowledge I learned to make new portfolio. I hope that I can successfully apply for a job after the case end.

From my observation, many English turorial resources are free (such as many videos on Yourube), even if need to pay, the price is cheap and the quality is good.

The reason why I ask questions is because the related courses I looked for are very expensive :sob:, about 50,000~100,000 NTD (about 1800~3600 USD), six-month course. I can't afford it, so I want to come here to ask if there are ways or resources for self-study.

So I really thank you for providing me with the information! :grinning:
