- Thank you! I finally cleaned that up. Meanwhile started 3 more ..I have a habit of taking too long to finish a piece, then I lose interest in it and just start something else. I found 8 from recently i started and abandoned, that are decent enough to not delete, but not finished. There’s also been a number of drawings I felt I “outgrew” - became better before I finished them, and it would be easier to start from scratch than fix them. Anyone else thinking that?in24.3k
- Lady Death Fanart Collectible: Part 6 Polypaint and base Hi, it’s time to share with you another part of the process to create this fanart piece. Polypaint As this is my first collectible fanart I didn’t have previous experience with polypaint so I tried my best and played a bit with it.I wanted to give a ghostly and eerie look to Lady Death, she is beautiful and deadly, but at the end of the day she is a woman that died and was reborn at hell as an avenging spirit, that’s why I gave her skin tone a bluish very cold tone.As you will see I gave myself some creative freedom to deviate from the traditional color scheme that this characater has in comics and illustrations. To add a bit of sensuality by painting some freckles on the face and the chest. The dark nature of this character was the perfect excuse to gave her a kind of goth make up, very dark shadows around the eyes, blue lips and fingernails. I know that the original character includes sexy red lips but I wanted this girl to have a sexy but at the same time creepy look, that’s why we can see some thin veins emanating from her eyes. The biggest chromatic change I did for this character is at the hair. Lady Death has a characteristic white weavy hair but in my fanart I decided to gave her a very saturated blue color. The reason behind this wasn’t only an aesthetic choice. I want that the face area strongly pulls the attention of the viewer so this area needed a stronger contrast. Another reason is that I want her to have a more modern look, as I mentioned before, I’m strongly attracted to women with goth/punk look. I gave myself half an hour or more to analyse the work of experienced sculptors that create collectibles and I discovered that the use of darker values on the skin is often applied to create a greater sense of volume and three-dimensionality. I found that areas with heavy ambient occlusion are the perfect places to paint with darker colors in order to increase the separation between different forms. Even though she has a bluish skin tone, I used a bit of warmer hues in areas that, in real life, tend to go towards red and pink, this is very obvious in the nose, cheeks, and knuckles. Thinking with a logical mind it’s completely absurd to have warmer tones on the body of a zombie like creature but I didn’t want to limit myself by using only blue tones, it looks boring and artificial. In real life these colors are created by blood vessels in areas where the skin is very thin. ** Scythe **for her weapon I applied a cool gray with some warmer variations, this color scheme is influenced by the work of H.R giger. Base I’d like to talk about the design for the base which, to be honest, I forgot to develop along with the character. My main idea with the base is to show that Lady Death inhabits a very sterile and arid land, at the end of the day she is at hell. You can see a that she walks over dirt and rocks, a sign that she’s surrounded by death and loneliness. As part of the landscape we can see some bones and skulls to reinforce the idea of lack of living creatures, yet we can see three hands that try to reach her legs. This hands represent that all creatures are subordinated to her power and seek an evil blessing with a simple touch of the princess of the damned.1- The hand with skin burns represents the souls of those who are newcomers to hell, tortured souls that suffer for the sins comitted on earth.2- The hand with greenish rotten skin and pustules is the reminder of the decay that has infected the souls of those who have been trapped and have forgotten their humanity3- Last but not least, the hand of a demon shows that even dark creatures and entities bow before her presence. The cherry on the top, at least in my vision, are the simese twins that emerge from the ground, this malevolent creatures remind us that in hell there’s only perversion and any trace of innocence is lost. Thanks for reading till this pointI’m really happy to be very close to finish this creative journey, last but not least it’s mandatory to talk about splitting the sculpture in several pieces to be printed, this will be my last entry before showing the final rendered images. See yaMay Zbrush be with youin1.4k

- Thank you @daceronine! If I remember I save in google cloud, I will have to stick a note to do it more often. Lamp is from life. Poses are from refs but I look at refs for a while and then try to do it myself and look it up if needed. Outfits and rest is from imagination Something went wrong while installing system so we will have to wipe everything again... pc works but something is wrong. We will wait till internet is done and I will save everything on cloud this time Threads came out in eu. It's been 3 days and I had more engagement than after half a year on instagram. It feels really nice I hope it stays this way A portrait of old dude. It's the same character I posted a while ago. Inspired by Bayard Wu work. At first I thought of him as a bear but I named him Fenrir and I think wolf suits him better. Eye gave me a bit of hard time but I think it is fine now. I focused on face and forgot about area below. The way I draw hair clashes with greying hair. I had the same problem while doing Lohse's white hair. Does it looks like it is greying here? I love how desaturated red looks blue there. I keep lying to myself that I will use different color scheme but It all comes down to this blue and yellowish one it is just flipped this time Have a great day!in48.4k

Hello fellas. My name is Victor. I'm currently studying design in Germany and see to become an illustrator and concept designer. Right now, I spend a lot of my time working for my finals project: an own art book.
Some of my favorite artists are Beksinski, Mohrbacher, Sean Murphy, McBess and Takashi Okazaki. I mostly work in 2D and enjoy to create more stylized work just as much as realistic renders.
Glad to be here.
Hey everybody, I'm a self-taught digital artist with a degree in studio art. I shifted towards entertainment art and digital painting pretty much right after graduating two years ago, and I'm very hungry to bring my portfolio to a professional level.
Some of my favorite games are the Mass Effect Series, the Legend of Zelda, Shadow of the Colossus, and Metal Gear Solid. I also love dark and moody sci-fi movies (anything from Ridley Scott) or just any movie with an interesting concept.
I'm also on the Crimson Dagger forums but I had to hop over to here after discovering Marc's youtube channel. Super excited to be here!

My name is Jen! I'm 24, from the UK, and I'm currently in my second year of university, studying Game Arts. The course is pretty varied, and at the moment I'm working on a level that encompasses 2D work, 3D work, and I'm using Unreal Engine! So it's pretty fun

Nice to meet you all!

Greetings fellow artists! I am an aspiring concept artist and illustrator currently attending a private college in California. Most of my life was spend in the beautiful country of Thailand, so much of my work is tropical in nature.
I mostly work on fantasy and science fiction characters, but I am looking to stretch and grow drastically in environments, expressions, rendering, and oh so much more!
I will be mostly seeking critique and guidance on cubebrush, and look forward to participating in the community!
Hi,
my name is Phillip, I am 18 years old and live in germany.
I started drawing half a year ago and got real serious after I found out, that there is a big variety of jobs.
So because I am currently self taught, my plan is to be good enough to do concept art, or do comic book cover illustrations( if this is a thing )
So please help me on my way, and when I can help you out I will gladly do that.
Sup Everyone! I’m Chris and currently live in California. I’ve just joined the Cubebrush forum and After months of lurking on this site and listening to all the podcasts, I finally built up the courage to become my serious about my career in art(Ive always been serious, just been stirred around the wrong direction). So far I’ve really been frustrated on developing my style in digital painting and where to start. I was; and still am, extremely frustrated with the price of art school compared to the quality of the education you get online these days. My goal is to either be a visual development artist or character artist while freelancing on the side.
Im thinking about making a twitter account and Instagram to show off my art. Feel free to say hi!

Hi everyone! I'm Jason,
I have been follwing Cubebrush for a while now just for tutorial updates and stuff. First time posting as I plan to take part in the Art War I just need to come up with my initial ideas!
I'm a somewhat self taught hobby artist, I was always a little better than everyone else in High School art which is where my classes pretty much stopped. I never really drew a lot until this last year where I started taking my art more seriously and now I'm moving up to the next level in my mind. Though I'm still just a humble hobby artist who wishes he could do art full time.
I don't post many places but I have focused more on building up a following on Facebook. I plan to try my hand more on YouTube this year, and build my own personal page as well.

Hey guys!
I'm Strubey and I'm a 21 year old guy from Sweden. I'm currently studying VFX at university to become a 3D Generalist. I also spend a lot of my free time just trying to become a better artist in both 3D and 2D.
I was never an artist to begin with, I used to be more into filmmaking and photography but I always felt limited by the medium in a way so I wanted to get into more of the art and VFX side to actually create new things from scratch. So I have a lot of catching up to do!
When I started to get interested in VFX I self produced mini music videos and basically did everything myself, from pre-production to filming and the VFX which was a lot of fun but extremely time consuming and exhausting. So it kind of feels nice to take a step back to improve my art fundementals a bit haha.
Mini music video I made all by myself: https://youtu.be/oqWgpbsP3ts

Hey everyone,
I'm jp, and I'm a 3D art student from finland. I'm kind of a jack of all trades because I'm interested in pretty much everything. In addition to 3D modeling, I do 2D art and game dev stuff (programming, design). Hoping to find a way in the future to make a living doing all of these things.
I'm also really bad at keeping active on forums, but I'm trying to improve!
Congrats on the job, that must be very affirming for you! I've noticed you are also doing a nice job of moderating, answering a lot of questions on the Art war challenge, for example. I've got a little question myself though. I've been trying to post fairly often on updates to my 2D concept and have asked for feedback, but have gotten no comments at all. This has been a little discouraging, and as I'm new to this, a little feedback would be so useful in helping me improve and go forward with my final piece. Is my work so bad no one wants to say so? I wish someone would so I'd know. I'm deciding if I should take a course in CG, and if I lack the talent or whatever, I'd certainly like to save the money! lol. I don't want to beg for comments or have pity comments, I'd like it if people would want to, but can you give me a clue as to why I might not be getting any? Thanks!

Greetings friends! My name is Keisha, I am Polish living in Canada, I'm 23 years old and have been drawing since I was a very small child living in Poland. I was greatly inspired by Disney movies which I obsessed over and began to draw similar characters, till this day my style resembles the Disney look but I'm trying to break out of my comfort zone! I paint fantasy and nature, I draw portraits and characters, and my ultimate favourite form of drawing is digitally. This is my first time ever on a forum, but I hope to be active and socialize more with people who have the same passions as I do. May you all have a lovely day! Thank you
