Though environments are not my favorite thing to draw I enjoyed it towards the end and will definitely try to draw more when I'm out and about. I didn't manage to do too many as it was a bit daunting to even start. This week I will now continue to fix the character design for the male steampunk character I was working on

Re did some character concept silhouettes and added some more. Some concept artists and recruiters I met at the Portugal event suggested to do at least 10-20 concepts as companies like to see the variety and the thought process before getting to the fina, character design.

Please share your opinions on what designs you like or dislike, any constructive critique is welcomed 😁. This character is strong and reliable so I made his body type is square like.

Wow, those black and white works are really awesome! I really like the first two, and the office/class environment (although I think the ceiling lights are off unless it was intended)

how long did it take you to draw one of these? they're all rendered so well!

Man these outfits are stunning, and the rendering 🤩👏
I would love to give you feedback, but it's kinda hard because these look like they are different characters, not so much iterations of one single character... you know what I mean? xD
The right one looks asian and noble, the 4th one more Caucasian and rougher (bc of spiky hairs), the first two look old, while the others look younger and they all have different weapons (gauntlets, sword, axe,...).

So maybe it would be easier if the hook of the character is a bit more specific than "strong and reliable".

Maybe something likeeee 🤔 ...
"A strong and reliable monk hunter from the mountains", or
"A noble guard of Queen Suiko, who is proud of his strength and reliability".

These are just random ideas of course, but they give a bit more background to build the character design around ^^

Umm it doesn’t take long as all these stages are just quick so I can get ideas out so maybe 30 mins to an hour. As I’m just simplifying. But I’d say coming up with the ideas for the clothes designs is what takes the most time

Character expression and weapon usage exploration

Not sure I read his facial expression accurately, he looks grave- like - under heavy pressure. Talking on the radio for support while taking heavy casualties is the feeling he’s giving me
