Hey, my name is Mango, I'm a self taught artist. I really never took my art skills seriously because I never thought I was good enough, so that's exactly why I'm here I want to change that. I want to be able to look back and see art I'm truly proud of, I'm currently going to school for 3d game art and am looking into the fields of character concept art or just character design in general. I hope I can share this adventure with all of you and become a great artist.

Welcome Mango! Hope you have fun! Looking forward to sharing the journey!

Nice! Sounds like you take it more seriously than you may lead us to think 😅 can’t wait to see your work

Cheers

Welcome to the forums! seems like a lot of us joined after deciding to get more serious about art. looking forward to seeing your work!

Hey everyone, just thought I should post a base drawing to show where I'm currently at in terms of skill. I'm thinking of posting a updated version after every term implementing all the new things I learned, I feel this will be a good way to gauge how much I'm improving or what I'm struggling on. But for now here is a rendition of my base skill.

Hey that already looks pretty nice! And yea, it's a good idea to have a checkpoint and a base you can continuously measure your progress against!

So week one went well, I watched the Visual Communication 1 video as well as the Photoshop for Digital Prod 1 video. this first weeks assignments were pretty easy, I saw slight improvements with my pen control over this week. unfortunately my Wacom tablet stopped working so I wasn't able to continue after day 4. but I managed to complete the Image Adjustments assignment, this assignment showed me short cuts I never knew existed, now that I know about the hue shifter thing my skin tones wont be flat anymore.

And just putting this here if anyone knows...
my tablet is the Wacom one 13 dtc133, it always worked fine until recently when my pen started to have issues. it wouldn't draw and I would have to try from different angles until it finally worked but now it doesn't draw at all except for when I bind the side button to click, then it draws when I press it. I replaced the nibs but that didn't fix anything. also all the drivers are up to date so I don't know what to do if anyone has any suggestions let me know

Thanks - Mango

Putting in some work! Wish I could help you there, but I'm not familiar with Wacom. Hope it gets resolved.
