ooh nice studies
Thank you!
I've been lacking enegry/motivation recently so I haven't been doing as much and I'll have to go for a trip soon so I won't be near the tablet but here's some of what I've been doing, bit of perspective shapes and 2 more character lineart copies, gonna sprinkle a bit of personal art like fanart and stuff because why not, drawnig is drawing and this is still important
Look noice so far! Why not for your next trip, buy a travel sketchbook/journal and use it to do some quick doodles/drawings? It can be anything that intrigues you for a second (e.g. car, scenery). That way, you don't have to worry about your lack of motivation the next time you can work with your tablet.
eyy these look good
Thank you! And yes that's a great idea, I have one around and I'm not sure if I'll have enough time during the trip to relax and get into the drawing mindset but I'll try out some stuff to keep the hand moving
Thanks a lot!
Hello everyone! Sorry for the absence, life stuff happened and it's been difficult for me to get back to anything, things turned out fine so I'm gonna start gearing up to continue with the weekly planning. I hope you're all doing great with your progress, I'll make another proper post about Art School assignments later this week. In the meantime, take a look at these Monster Hunter sketches I tried to do for fun!
As promised here's a couple of exercise so far this week, 5 minute poses (In which I'm focusing more on getting the actual proportions right rather than adding detail) and some random shapes and volumes drawing
Room assignment, not sure if I should add more to it or what should I change but since it's my first time doing something like this I don't want to feel overwhelmed and spend too much timeAny feedback is welcome
You have a tangents here. (red circles) You want to avoid them. Just move this this things a bit so it doesn't line up.I would move furniture further from walls so it feels more natural. And I think sofa's bottom looks as if it was on the wall.
Great job! I like this aquarium on the wall
Hi! And thanks for the feedback! I tried to fix it a bit based on what you said tho I'm still a bit unfamiliar with fixing tangents so I'm not sure if this is the correct approach. Moving the furniture sure did help a lot too
For this week I'm focusing on character lineart copies and environment copies and I'm gonna leave other shapes and gestures/poses on the side for a bit as I feel I have a decent grip on how to do them. Here's the first of each, Hsien-Ko from Darkstalkers and a screenshot from the time I played Death Stranding, somethings went wrong mostly in the environment piece but hey that's learning! I have to say I had a lot of fun with the environment and people's comments on the Discord helped me get a better idea of how to approach the assignmentWill be posting the rest as I make them tho probably in a batch when I make more than just one of each so see you soon!
Looks better now! I don't think there is correct or bad approach for this. The only thing that can happen is accidentally creating tangent in different place which you can always fix
For environment try using lighter values for what is far away and darker for what is closer or/and more important
I'm back with more environment practrice! I took that tip about using lighter values for far away parts to heart and did that with the rest of the attempts, here they are!
ooh these environment studies look great, the foreground/midground/background show very clearly!
It's been a while! Currently on week 2 of Term 2 and here's 10 character head lineart copies from things I like
A couple of heads from imagination and this illustration I was working on, I'm happy with all of these but I do have to say I may have spent way too much time on drawing for fun this week alongside other stuff haha, didn't get much else done
Another 5 faces, this time facing the camera
More things! A study of Willem Dafoe's face, another face practice with Iron Tager (A character with more deformed/stylized features such as the nose and mouth) and another illustration
