Thank you so much for the kind words, @OpaqueApple!
Haha yeah that is the big question and I must admit, I didnt give it much thought. I had a pikatchu in mind, but you are right it could be a Azumarill or a very small version of Totoro :joy:

Hi! Great job so far but I think that the sides are too dark

the face does have mostly soft transitions so I think you did a good job on keeping it soft while also showing where the planes transition into each other while keeping the places that need to be sharp sharp

Quick update, started Istebrak's 14 Day Portrait challenge. Here's day two. A lot of stuff wrong with the eye area and the fact that it should be a female face doesn't make it better
Still, it's an okay start.

love how soft the face transitions look I think you did a good job

Thank you so much for your kind words, @Kosmonaut!
Here is Day 3 of the Challenge, made her a lot more feminine and worked on the eyes!

These are looking great @mau.wamp!!!
I don't see line art so does that mean you are painting those from scratch? Super awesome!

Little update on my studies, haven't been online much as I had little time available...
What do you think?

Have a great week, guys!

these look great! they remind me of sculptures with how you rendered these. The only thing I could say is that the first head you posted seems to have a really long forehead but I could also be wrong as well.

I love the eye shapes you did.

I agree with Kosmonaut about the forehead being long on the first one, but I think that's because the overall head is too long. I would shorten the nose a bit along with the forehead.

Can't wait to see day 7!
