Hey!

I'm Nym and this is me just trying to kick off a new skill here. By day I'm a Security Engineer and up til recently worked at a video game studio with some amazing artists I take inspiration from, but have done very very little art in my life. I'm looking to build up my fundamentals in an endevour to be able to create character and landscape art for D&D and just my own enjoyment, concept arty style. (Did a few small doodles before: Scythe & Some kinda study thing)

But anyhow, I look forward to doing this with yall:

  1. Freehand non sketchy circles are yuck
  2. Mei in 4's legs I couldnt get quite right, and the clouds are a bit oversaturated / bright

Trying a little of the figure drawing, damn drawing even basic ellipses is super difficult for some reason. I hope it'll come in time, but the glass on the screen I have feels so slippy, and even the smallest ellipse has a wobble or tail. Meh rambling in text xD

I drew some lines, how do they look?

Haha yeah drawing on glass can be frustrating. If you want to reduce that slippery glass feel you can get a matte screen protector for whatever drawing tablet you use. The Paperlike one is pretty good if you have an iPad.

From my understanding of what Marc said in the figure drawing video for these exercises, it looks looks like you're doing exactly what you're supposed too:
:heavy_check_mark: Line of action,
:heavy_check_mark: head, rib cage, and pelvis regions
:heavy_check_mark: ball joints and connecting lines.
Good work on estimating where those joints are that go behind the figure. You're well on your way with your art journey.

So 4 and a bit hours just vanished while I was doing these exercises. Took a very long time for what little I did but a serious issue of stopping and doubting the cylinders I put down, erasing and then putting down the exact same thing, gonna have to check myself If I catch myself doing it any more. Last one i self corrected when I saw it on a different screen. These are tough! Well plenty of time for more practice tomorrow. Let me know where the glaring errors are yall!
