Hello! It's been a while. I got pretty busy for the last two months, partly because of work and partly because I wanted to focus on making gifts at Christmastime for multiple people so I had to put aside Marc's school. But I also had the lingering thought in the back of mind: I didn't want to continue my snow canine creature, I think it's ok, but it seems too majestic and/or noble to me. Something about the overall shapes just weren't clicking for me. I wanted a creature that's a bit lankier and not as thick as this wolf.
So I went back to square one, researched other animals, like the oriental shorthair and arctic wolf, and drew a new creature:
I went for a longer neck and fixed the torso area. I also changed the head to a cat head, which is more based on Siamese cats and Oriental shortbreads, since they had that interesting head shape that seemed to suit my goals. Though, while one of my goals is to create a predator that stalked its prey in snowy regions, I also wanted it to be a demonic creature that lived in the snowy area of the underworld. I rather not go too crazy on embellishing its demonic traits with horn or spikes or long claws, so in the coloring phase, I hope to have fun figuring out how to make it look more demonic. Any ideas are appreciated as well, since white is the dominant color, but I'm not sure if stripes and/or spots are the right approach on this animal. I also appreciate any other feedback about the structure, anatomy, and/or anything else about the animal.
