@alwaysneedsleep Drawbox is an online course in some was similar to this one but it focuses mainly ond drawing with intent and training spatial reasoning. If you want to work on your hand controll its a good place to be.

The practice shows mate, those torsos drip with confidence, the breasts have weight and the skin folds feel volumous. Especially in those bottom right ones. Boom shaka ding dong!

Hello it's been almost a year now sso I've decided to post a little update on what i was working on.

Term 2

Still working on propotrions, started experimenting with using value to describe the fetures. (Need more practice)

Term 3/4

Most confident when it comes to knowing different visible muscles. Hands, arms, feet remain a problem area (Still need a practice here)
Clothing needs a lot more work.

Term 5

Animal anatomy subject i barely touched upon.
(Would need much more study time and practice) It was really fun though.

Character design is probably my favorite topic so far. I feel like my lines are steadily improving but rendering shapes to look 3d as well as painting skills need a ton more work. Started applying colours using gradient maps but need to work on my understanding on colour harmonies as well as continuing with a lot more material studies.

It aint much but it's honest work.
As alway any critiques and observations are welcome. Hope you had great last 300 days :)))))

These horses scare me and there is a lot of interesting designs
I like that piece with hands

On the last piece - shouldn't knee on her right leg tilt the other side?

Wow you’ve been busy @playforwho! Nice to see you posting again. Love some of these character designs. So expressive with the Russian looking lads, reminds me of Disney concept art. Keep it up.

Tried my hand at some exercises form term 6

After sinking some time in to learning basics of blender i found 3d approach to be much easier then pure 2d workflow. The fact that perspective is taken care of makes posing much simpler.

I tried making an illustration combining all 3 lessons in term 6 but it ended up looking bad, the composition and colors didn't hit the way I intended. And the fact that the mech design looks rather goofy does not help. I shoud have played with the perspective more given that i used 3d as my base. If you have any feedback or observation i would be very greatfull.

Your being to hard on yourself @playforwho89. I think this looks so sensational. The mech doesn’t look goofy at all, I think it looks friendly if that’s what you intended.

Couple of things, what is your main focus? The mech or people? At first glance to me the people are, reason being is that the drawing is quite light in comparison to the black of the silhouette. If you want to pull focus more to the mech I think using a dark grey would help, and perhaps with a slight guessian blur as well.

In terms of composition, I think using rule of thirds could help, the mech is in a good position but the people are 2 low, see image. Hope this helps.

I’ve gotta say, your colours in this piece are awesome, I love the subtle blue giving the metal a cold feeling, you nailed it. Keep it up.

I've attempted some composition exercises focusing on each of the given principles:
1. Emphasis
2. Balance

3. Proportions

4. Repetition
5. Movement

6. Variety

I would love some feedback as I'm not sure if i understand them correctly especially balance seems confusing to me. Thanks and have a great day.

Sorry, but since i've not reach that part of the course, i don't know jack about it, so no meaningful feedback from me besides that those look absolutely beautiful to my untrained eyes! So good work!

Nice work! I just went through your Art School Journey, and you're making huge progress, that's amazing. Also, the first character looks like Letho from The Witcher games, which are my most favorite games, love it! May I ask how much time you spend a day drawing/painting?
