Hello. Here is my new pack of sketches. Actually, I was trying to use craft paper with charcoal, but I didn't succeed at all, although my drawings didn't smudge, gesture sketching with marker is a lot easier for me.
Also I discovered for myself sketching with micron pen, but I must admit that I can't figure out how to capture movement. That is why now I either draw gesture or more precise model proportions.
The question is, how to manage to draw both gesture and get correct proportions?

Ok. It's time to post something digital here.
Let me introduce my latest painting (from photo references). I adore playing with colour, but I understood here, that I didn't get, how it works. I mean, for me it isn't just enough to paint, for example, red with just it's dark version, I try to consider the surrounding and some complementary colour effects.
Here I tried to paint red dress with the violet colour on the dark side.
PS Oh. Interesting thing is, that colours with value lower than 10 (from 255 in Photoshop) became a one black spot. Hmmm... Do the light colours (value 90) work the same way?

Hello, guys. Here is my latest work. Let me tell a little story behind this piece. I caught a cold right after the New Year's Eve and was lying a whole week with a high temperature, without any energy to draw something (besides, that is how I failed the #365dayschallenge again).
Nevertheless, I was only able to think about the fire and the temperature of materials' melting. All in all, the idea to draw a girl with flaming hair muffled in warm plaid had born.
Also, I feel like I'm doing better with hair, but anatomy is still very bad T_T

Hello, I'm currently working on this piece, although at this stage it is messy and sketchy, I would like to hear your thoughts (in case this old nooby blog interested someone). I mean what do you FEEL about this or have any critique, I definitely want to finish this, but now I want some fresh breath.

PS You may think that there is no progress during this 9month' period of silence. You are totally right, except one tiny moment: here I painted my idea without any reference, earlier there was a ton of them. I suppose that is the reason why it is so hard for me to finish - I have no photos to look at to decide wether the piece is done or not, I should think about in on my own and it is DAMN HARD!!!

I've decided to start a drawing challenge, to boost my creativity and confidence. I'll draw all April witches using ink, fountain pens and brushpens. I'm so excited when I see beautiful sketchbooks, but I can't do the same. So I need some challenge to start trying ^_^

Ok. There is a story behind this one. First of all, I created a pencil
sketch for the ink illustration and was very happy with the way how her
face and pose turned out.

So, I had no brave to begin inking that one
and decided to draw another 5-minute sketch to test ink hatching on her
face, because I've never ever drawn old people and it is intimidating to
me to do all at once. BUUUUUUUUUUT something went wrong... ... ...

and I spent 3 hours on this drawing just placing shadows with pencil.
And you know what? Now I panic and can't force myself for inking again.... This is kind of stupid....
