I'm attempting to make progress painting characters in environments which I have found to be more difficult than just painting a portrait. I'm reservedly happy with how the characters outfit turned out. I feel like I could have handled some parts of the face of the character differently, posing/proportions issues and handled the environment differently by adding more detail. I'm happy and welcome to hearing crits of this piece!

Did you use references? At the moment she looks a little flat. Try to sift hue to cooler color and saturate it a little. For me personally its little hard to read how arms coming from that shoulder piece.

I hadn't used any references for this one. Thanks for the helpful critique and advice!

Your biggest problem aside of anatomy/form issues are the values, I'd reccomend you to work on black and white for a while, in general you need to use darker darks, I did a super quick overpaint just to show you my point, se how in the original version shadows are almost the same value as midtones?

Wow man thanks for taking the time to do this! Not pushing dark values is a really bad habit of mine.
