And last one for the night, gonna take a break. I feel crosshatching the digital charcoal is a little muddy, but I'm lazy to start smudging right now. also I kinda changed this one's face, she looks kind of latin I think but the reference was asian

man these studies are so liberating when I don't focus on being picture perfect (though I sometimes go overboard with proportions and joint placement) but like, faces are 1000x easier now thanks to all the head practice XD let me know what ya'll think, any critique always appreciated

The first two looks like gesture drawings while the rest start to go more into 'figure' drawing. Gesture drawing is a subset of figure drawing so its not bad but its good to know the difference between the two. Gesture is just flow and feel, simple lines and contours to show rhythm. Figure incorporates gesture and builds on that with more detail, like basic forms and anatomy.
Either way you've done well, if you need critique on the gesture of each drawing, you'd need refs so that people can compare the two.

@uraniumpuppy thank you for the feedback, I’ll keep it in mind. Also, yeah my first ones were 2min gestures and the “more fleshed out” one onward were slower studies. I always mix up my figure studies technique between gesture/volumes and joints etc, basically what I’ve learned from term 1

So, after walking some dogs, doing some much needed exercise and a kittle dinner out with friends I got time ti finish this head study

I like the portrait shading. Her right eye is bigger than the left. I think it is the other way around.

Looks really nice! Great shadowing! and more importantly, it seems every iteration is looking better! There was some blending in the previous pieces, but this one has much smoother shadows and lights blends!
