I'm astonished by the amount of work you've already made Snakker! Hope you get well soon, because seeing you work so tirelessly is incredibly motivating.
Your gestures say so much with so few lines It's amazing.
I could recommend 3 things for the perspective 1 course.
- Like the assignment mentioned: pick a room in your own home and try to replicate that in 1 point perspective. This makes the creative part easier, because the desks/ cupboards/ closest/ book cases are all there already.
- this one might sound silly, but look up an IKEA catalog or other interior decorations website. Like you're shopping for new furniture, you often get provided a picture oh what it might look in a particular household. Seeing how things mix and match might give you inspirations how to fill up your room.
- Try imagine yourself moving to a new place, completely blank room. Where do you put your bed, your desk, your wardrobe closet? In your kitchen, where's the counter? where's the sink? where's the window? do you have overhanging compartments or do you use undercounter storage closets? Fridge, microwave, drawers for your cutlery, you name it.
This is like what @prinzmoana mentioned, what is the room built for? what would the room need?
Now if you want a more fantasy twist to the room; look up your favorite fantasy settings. Lord of the Rings is an incredible feast of architectural backgrounds. From elven archs with soaring curves and large windows. The Shire with the hobbits having round doorways and even the arches of the roof being round, but the house looks cozey. Buildings in mordor often looking sharp edged and filled with angular shapes. Dwarves using more straight lines, geometric shapes. The halls of Rohan taking a more viking/ traditional medieval longhouse approach to indoor architecture.
I am dragging on, but when looking at a room, what stands out? In Marc's example it looks something that came straight out of Overwatch or Doom 2016, with its sci-fi elements. Sheet metal, piping, curved glass, sliding electrical doors, etc etc.
Hope this helps! and get well soon!
