It's quite amazing to see your progress! The figures are getting much more professional, you've definitely grown your skill there tremendously! Keep up the good work.

Hey everyone, been taking a small break after a long week. Been drawing on paper, realizing I totally suck at drawing anything figure related on paper right now XD so I definitely have to implement a little bit of that as well. I also forced myself to start doing the actual perspective exercises

I ended up not using any reference for now, did these two rooms just to experiment a little

Next I started drawing this temple in the sky concept, in hindsight, probably should have used at least some reference for the columns etc, they look kinda wonky

I tried rendering some clouds for the background

alpha locked the architecture

Started rendering a little, I'm still totally lost at rendering, but it's something

Then some doodles from imagination

(skirt girl turned out kinda manly XD)

Any observations highly appreciated

A little progress rendering, just for fun It's looking better now, some parts are giving me a headache trying to guess how dark the foreground area should be for example
Anyhow, gonna pause for now
PS I know I should be focusing on line art for now, but can't help give it a try. If anyone has any tips, I'm all ears

I think the whole puzzle pieces in the air idea wasn't reading well, so I changed it up a bit, kept rendering it a little more, hope you like

i actually like the puzzle design :3

though i thought it was more like a floating island spaceship rather than a puzzle

yeah, it was something like that, had those cylinders that would kind of dock with the temple platform, but I feel the design was kinda weak once I actually know how to paint better I'll hopefully figure out creative ways to make things like that cooler looking.

There are some artists that make these amazing perspectives in their landscapes that make you feel so small, I definitely want to be able to evoke that in my paintings, and add some figures doing something in them, tell a story and all that good stuff

As for shading or how dark you should make it... i think its a but too dark and blends in with the clouds on the right value wise:

I'd recommend making the edges brighter at least so it kind of doesnt blend into the bg and give the dark clouds on the right a few more bright spots so its not just one dark mass

Just imo

and maybe make the brighter part of the bg a bit more brighter?

Very nice!!

Though value wise the right side is still blending in together a bit too much imo - i'd recommend making pieces of the cloud lighter

maybe something a bit more like this?

Oh and the house island thing is blending into the bg a bit too much too:

maybe increase the contrast between those just near the edge (make the bg slightly darker)

btw i rly like these clouds

A couple pf traditional sketches, really gotta work on those a bit more. I feel it would be bit embarrassing if I learned to draw on PC and can’t draw a figure on paper XD

Those are really good! I especially like the dynamic feel of the middle one.

And I totally get that, I've been meaning to do some sketching on paper myself, my sketchbook seems lonely lately with my tablet getting all the attention!

This looks so magical with the purple clouds and the flying church (?) 🤩
And it was a good decision to crop the bottom, gives the piece a very nice focus 👍
