Sydney (CelestialMonstR) - Art School Journey

Hello everyone, I go by CelestialMonstR or Sydney and I'm a 27 y/o hobby artist from Germany, trying to reconnect with my love for art.
I've been an artist since as long as I can remember, but more specifically been trying to pursue it as a career for around 12 years.
With the long bits of breaks in between (which sometimes took years) I was slacking off a lot, which was not that big of a problem in of itself, cause I didn't do it professionally (yet) but I just felt like a huge part of me is missing and that drawing is my calling.
I've been having an eye on the Art School for a couple years now but was never really able to set aside time or money or was lacking motivation to actually do it.
But that changes now!
I want to concentrate on getting better at what I can do best (I think).

So today I wanna start my Art School Journey here with you guys, hopefully rekindling the flicker and let it bloom back into a raging blaze.

My proficiency lies within character Illustration and Design and I dabble into 3D Character Modeling every now and then because I'm also an aspiring Game Dev, so I hope what I learn here can help me along the way!♥

These are some of my artworks I've done over the years, they're not the best and I don't have a lot (that I can show here, because my content is a bit spicy in nature) but I hope its enough to gauge my skill level. lol

TERM 1 - Week 1 / Day 1 - Assignments 1 + 2

Sadly I don't have as much control over my pen pressure because of the age of my tablet (and pen) but I tried my best!
(I was struggling a lot with the last one because I forgot that hue-shifting was a thing, oops It's still not perfect, but at that point I was sitting on it for so long, I just couldn't bother to nitpick lolol)

TERM 1 - Week 1 - Assignment 1 Day 2 (kinda)

It's been a while.. mostly because I felt like I couldn't really improve with the current tablet I had, It was old and buggy; had some issues with the pen... the usual lol
And I figured since I wanted to upgrade anyway that it wouldn't make a lot of sense to get used to work with my old tablet just to do it all over again when the new one arrives.. and now it's here! So I'm back on the grind! =D

I felt like I was trying too hard the first time so I toned it a little down for the vertical lines, after all I'm here to learn not to exhaust myself..
I also thought that the image adjustment assignment was a daily thing but it's not so instead I'm redoing it at the end of the week and see how much I improved. =)
The circles are worse but that comes with getting used to a new tablet.
I can also not really put it in the position I had my old one in cause the USB cable that came with it is just a tiny bit too short so I was in an awkward position =/

Well I hope I can get over the awkwardness eventually, otherwise I'll just get a longer cable, lol

I think the biggest improvement is in the circles and pressure, but i really struggle with straight lines lolol
not so much on paper but digital is just something else
