Heya Frog! Wauw, nice job so far! Those brush exercises are really valuable yeah! They will really help a LOT to improve your dexterity over time. I really like your take on the second assignment, you have a really good view on colors and values =). Very nice, keep it up! Love to see more.

Great work on the first assignments. You did very well with the colors. I like your image too! However, maybe I would have darkened the castle and bridge a bit at the top because your lightsource the burning boat would not reach the top or maybe introducing some artificial lighting or torches. Just my opinion though

thanks man, yeah i tried playing around with the lighting and stuff it just made everything look weird? maybe if i did add lights around the bridge could've made it convincing or something idk :frog:

I love the image you made!!! Now I'm going to steal it!!! :gun:

although I can not stop feeling that something does not fit
but at the same time I'm not sure what it is

I think first of all that there is no right or wrong and you got a great mood. Techniquely I think that you have a backlit situation which makes the house and bridge a silhuette. There is nothing that would act as ambient light fill or reflector which would iluminate the house from the front. So you only have the burning boat which is your second light source. But it would not reach the house. So what could work is to make the house very dark with a rim light and some torches. Just my 50 cent though

Ooo yeah that would've actually looked really cool dude!! Gotta keep that in mind next time. :frog:

Hey Frog! I really like your latest two takes for the photoshop for production assignments. I like that you really went with a theme and a very nice atmosphere that fits that theme. The boat really pops out! As a critique what I'd say is to perhaps play a bit more with the image adjustments for the building so the overal picture gets a bit better of a read in terms of colors and value so it 'fits' better together as a whole. I hope that makes some sense, haha. I'm also pretty new at this =).. Anyway keep it up and looking forward to your future work!

Heya!! First thank you :frog:  yeah i was really having trouble with the building and stuff haaha. Gotta keep it in mind if we do anymore of this stuff it's hard but kinda fun in a way.
