Great first post.
Overall I think your design could be pushed towards more frog. As it stands it seems like its 20% frog, and 80% man.
For example, if his feet are frog feet, why not make his hands the same? Its not until we look down that we get any sense of the idea that he is 'froggish' by seeing his feet. Up until that point he could be mistaken for a strongman who has no neck since he has homo genus facial features. Also because of his human strongman proportions in torso and limbs.
My suggestion on your technique is to make all your shadow areas have no tones as light as the tones in your lit areas, because it is confusing your communication of form to the viewer. Have a clear definition between light and dark sides of objects from your main light source. Then add secondary light sources like what I assume is magic from the fists.
