Found out about the contest late, but excited to take part. My entry is inspired by Krulos, the antagonist from Dino Riders, which I loved as a kid. An intergalactic froglike alien tyrant who travels back in time with the ability to create Brain Boxes to control minds, notably dinosaurs. I'm planning on doing my own take on this kind of character, a bulky, heavily armored alien space emperor. I'd like to put some time into developing a mount for him too, but that may be a future thing.

Just reread the guidelines, I'll be doing a character with some inspiration from this one, but going in a different direction in a lot of ways. It should give me a lot of freedom to do my own thing with it as well.

Cool, i hear there is a retro whatchamacall it thing people do sometimes on facebook? (not sure), unless that isn't all the time, i am not sure but perhaps one of the judges might "host", start those every year, unless it is just an on-going thing. Called retro-gasim i think.

Could use this as a warm up before creating the guy above after this contest.

Thanks, yeah Retrogasm is the name. I entered it this year as well with Kanji from Persona 4. That was super fun and I met some great artists through it, hoping to do the same here as I've missed the previous Art Wars.

Pried myself away from all my new toys to do some more armor block-in work. Just about ready to sculpt and rough things up a bit, time schedule be damned.

Finished with sculpting, sprinting toward texturing. May make the deadline, may not, but either way I'm finishing this bad boy.

Out of town for this week and next, and the laptop I'm using isn't up to finishing so definitely not making the deadline. But here's where I got for now, and I'm planning on finishing the texturing and doing a good pose and render by the end of the month. Thanks for following!
