Sometimes mother nature wants to take revenge. The original idea was to design some kind of earth spirit, came to take his revenge on the creatures exploiting it. My character is a skeletal creature made of wood and moss, a bit taller than human he use a magic scepter allowing him to control the plants. Recognizable by his two horns of branches, this design was inspired by various legends, myths and creatures such as the Wendigo. The wood and roots of his body are inspired by the strangler fig, a tropical plant species spending a part of their life without rooting into the ground. The runes on his scepter and his left arm are the traces of the ritual carried out to awake him while the rest of his body is made of branches and wood trying to copy the anatomy of his his victims.
Concerning his story, Algesach was created during a magic ritual made by an ancient group of druid wandering for a way to protect their forest. The spirit rapidly escape their control and started hunting down every creature he met, absorbing their strength to feed himself. Living deep in the forest, this creature is now a myth intended to scare away hunters and poachers.
This first part of creation regroup the research of general appearance of the character through silhouettes.
