Getting a good start on this. Took some time to figure out a character map on some key elements I am thinking for this character and her design.

Now to figure out some thumbnails!

50 Exploration thumbnails on shapes. Now to pick my fav 3-5 and do some iterations of them tomorrow. Shooting to have the design figured by the end of the week so I can have a clear picture on the character and shape language to start sculpting at the latest, the start of next week. Hope you enjoy!

After some streaming, at https://www.twitch.tv/brohmyr, I picked my favourite silhouettes and built up a few. I'll be doing another pass after supper combining my ideas in about an hour.

I'm surprised how far I have arrived at today with the design. I am happy with this direction. And now I have an avenue for looking at certain reference material. Time to gather up those images! Hope you are enjoying the process.

Thanks @Helluvallyric and @Changiz :D. I'm definitely not stopping. I'm having tons of fun with this design. I'll probably explore some more silhouettes for the shield as I'm not 100% on it just yet. But definitely looking forward to when I hit my vacation next week so I can go big on this. I wish there was time to do a full production model but I'll do that part after the contest piece is done. I should start sculpting Monday if I am on track.

Some WIP as I figure out her anatomy and build up the layers to her clothing and understand her hair more to what I want. I had fun streaming while working on this. But starting to make some poor design decisions and getting tired so off to bed I go.

My "homework" while at work on breaks will be some hand and feet sketches. Maybe some silhouettes of the shield/kraken head.

My body decided to wake up at 1:30am wanting to draw so I quickly roughed out a start of the model sheet turnaround to get ready for modeling and getting a feel of the shapes. Working on the "basemesh" elements first.

Might figure out some poses for a pose sheet with how the design works with a character in motion. Can also double as ideas for the final pose. But for now, I think I can head back to sleep. More coming tomorrow .

So trying to figure out a pose sheet to see my character's design in motion and any changes I may need to make to her armor and such. What are your top 3 poses based on a guard who is strong/agile?

Working on the anatomy and proportions. I'm feeling it out even more. Didn't add her hair yet so this can help with sculpting the basemesh later.

Thanks @skullguzma. The far left is one of the heads where I started to feel the character shape properly. I'll probably redraw the others to fix their shapes and proportions more.
