Byot journey to concept artist

Hey guys,

Really happy to be here, and congrats to Marc for bringing all those artists together.
A little bit about my self: My name is Jerome and I'm a 30 years old french guy.
I quit my job last december to pursue a carreer in concept art/ illustration, pretty challenging but I always loved to draw, I just decided to go all in after a big introspection on my life in 2015.

My favorite artists are: Luke Manicini, Arnold Tsang, Kekai kotaki, Laurel D Austin, Marc Brunet, Joe Madureira, Michael turner, among others. There are plenty more but I think those really had the biggest impact on me

I live in Toulouse, France and I'm currently taking some classes at CGMA to pursue my goal.

Well enough with the presentation. here are some drawings I did last month for CGMA "fundamental of design" class.

I'll make sure to post more stuff here from now on

Awesome concept art you did there. I like the guy to the left. It is interesting how the character does not have hands, and the mask gives him a more spooky look. I want to see more of your work.

Thanks guys, always love the kind words.

I've been doing a class with Ron Lemen on clothing anatomy over at CGMA and I ended up doing the longest study of my life (20-25hours) on a costume. Learned a lot but mostly how to not give up and keep pushing your drawing (wich is something I really struggle with).

Not perfect but I'm still pretty happy with the result:

Gonna jump off to doing some portraits and perspective now, basics basics basics right?

Woah! That 20 hour study is incredible! The fact that you managed to push that much time into one work is even more amazing. Every little detail shows some serious dedication. Keep up the amazing work!
