Need some help to improve

Hello everyone ~
This is my lastest painting, I tried to challenge myself a little bit by making something a little bit more "complex". I'm working on another piece righ now but feel like I'm getting stuck somewhere: There's something missing in my coloring technique and in the overall artwork that keep me away from doing something satisfiying.

I would appreciate to have some constructive critique, good or bad, that could help me to improve!

Hey there
I like the sky a lot and the red tinting of the shadows on your character makes her look very alive, nice job there.
What could improve your colour scheme is a bit of blue to complement that nice orange.
I also think you need to define the hands a bit more, some of the shadows tangle with the fingers' outlines. The lighting on the thighs looks too sharp to me as well, it would look better if it were a bit more subdued.
You could also add some shadows on the ground to make the character and the lantern there look more like they are on the ground.

At first I thought that was a tree in the background and not her antlers. With where you've placed the lights, and the distance they shine, there's no reason for the part of her head where they connect, not to be illuminated.

What I recommend you do, is making a couple of studies, with a very defined light source. Find something that forces you to work with hard edges.

I love that you've tried doing something really difficult here though. It shows that your not afraid to get out of your comfort zone, which really is the most important thing. Keep up the good work!
