Hey guys, I'm Serge, a graphic designer and artist from Valencia, Spain.

I actually started the Art School program around November in '21, but didn't bother to post here until now for some reason. I've been struggling quite a bit with real life problems but still taking my time to improve my art. I have to mention that I'm halfway through the course but can't take all of my time to do it, otherwise I would be close to finishing it.

Some of my most recent works since I had started the program. Most of these are done by paper, because my current financial situation doesn't let me afford the tools I need to make the cool things I aim to do, and I'm stuck with a crappy desk in a cramped room... god. I hope something improves along with my art soon!

Hi Serge! Welcome to the forums! I look forward to seeing your progress! In terms of having the tools you need. I think you can learn everything you need to with traditional tools then those skills will carry over if you start to do digital. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, that's what I've been up to for the last few months. I still try to improve when it comes to digital, even if I only have a mouse and a crappy desk to work on. In fact, here's some of the stuff I've recently made; the first one I first drew it on paper, then I colored in Photoshop. Excuse the bad folds, it's kind of hard when I can't put on my tablet on this small table but I still did my best!

Nice job with these! One thing you might look into is traditional hatching methods. I know a lot of people use hatching to shade for traditional and I think it looks great, but I'm not sure where to find info on it. You might try that instead of bringing it into photoshop. I just remember when I started with a mouse it was such a nightmare to use, I wish I would have just learned hatching instead until I got a tablet. Keep it up!

Yeah, I do use a lot of hatching when I'm drawing traditionally. Speaking of that, here's a few more of these.

A poster for the puppet show I'm co-creating with my friend, excuse the crappy folds on Terrance's T-shirt (the Wario-like teacher at the left) and a few more mistakes

Another poster for that same show, featuring the two recurring Chinese immigrants Long and Cheng

A mockup for an album I did for a client

An attempt at a piece using only pencils and graphite
