Someone critic my portfolio ? :)

My portfolio is based on characters and weapons/props.
I'd like to have some feedback on my pieces and particularly lighting xD.
I don't get lighting when rendering 3D pieces

Hey fellow Cubebrushian, I am exofley, a fellow journeyman in the realm of cubebrush. It appears there's a slight problem here with your wares.... yes. If your looking for critiques of your portfolio I'd first gather more material secondly, state the OBJECTIVE of your portfolio, otherwise we'd just be chatting about how awesome it looks!

• Make sure to give us something to critique, there isn't much here and we have no idea what it's for! Try something like... " My portfolio is intended to do this, make you feel that, I'm working towards this so on and so fourth"!

• Lastly but not least, the people of Cubebrush are often busy! try to make it worth while for someone to check out YOUR forum post. otherwise you'll be left high and dry like Thom yorke and nobody wants that.

Alright my fellow journeyman, I hope you find great success in the near future, may cubebrush guide you.

Thank you for replying. I guess my asking for critique needs improvement. xD
Firstly by "gather more material" you mean the textures ? or more art pieces ?
I guess my portfolio is all over the place. I want to make character art portfolio and hard surface/props/weapons portfolio.
I dont know if my mesh and texture is of good quality , and I need help with lighting and any other glaring issues that I might have missed.

Excuse my lateness, there are a couple of things I'd recommend first off, get your self settled in! make a profile picture, comment on other post, respond to other people! when your polite and considerate to the community the community will be polite and considerate with you!

Portfolio Review

• something big in which I was referring to was the lack of pieces in your portfolio. Every portfolio has a goal in a sense. yours being character art and various other elements. I want to see that in the initial post, tell us what your doing, why your doing it and how we could help you with improving any aspects of your illustration. As for what to put in your portfolio I recommend... this guy!

these are two good pieces, good start.
focus on making more good, well finished stuff. No wips on portfolio. quality over quantity.
Work on turnarounds, they don't need to be fully rendered, but carry enough detail for 3d modeler to have enough info to go by.
Be more explanatory in your title, like: "character and prop portfolio, critique needed"
Otherwise, good start now back to work! looking fwd to more pieces

thank you I think I need help on lighting xD and honestly I don't even know what part I am lacking , previously I had big spaces around the images , I cropped it after someone told me. Things like that I can't notice but someone else might.

Love your work! Do you work from 2D concept drawings?

I think as far as lighting goes, define your light source(s) early. but I don't see anything wrong here, it's a concept so everything should be well light for the 3d modeler to have a good idea of forms.
You might want to look up material response. for example, leather and metal will have a diff response to light, with leather being more diffuse and metal sharp.
