This is my first time entering this challenge. I'm going to try both 2D and 3D categories out. I'm not sure what genre I'm going with just yet but it will be completely different than my 3D entry.

Going to get inspired now. Good luck to all!

Here are a few rough thumbnails. They're probably illegible most, but I know what they mean...I think. I'll post some mood boards soon.

I'm thinking of taking #3 and #4 a bit further.

I thnik your sketches look interesting... makes me look at them to find cool details and shapes.
I read you are doing 2D and 3D at the same time... like wow. You must be really fast and good. I think doing only one gategory is allready a challenge itself.

Thanks! Yeah, doing both 3D and 2D is a bit of a lift but I wanted to challenge myself...and work on time management

Thanks. I think thumbnails are a vital part to any design. I always start there so I don't spend too much time on details when I really need to spend time on the "idea".

Here are a few thumbnails I had a chance to add some color and flesh out a bit. Not sure if these are the right idea, but I'm feeling #1 and #3. I might explore #3 in more detail...

"Refined" #3 rough thumbnail a bit; really just trying to find a composition I like. I'll keep working on it, but I like where it's going. I also put together a mood board...

Worked on another quick and loose thumbnail. I realized that I needed to show more of my civilization, I was cropping into much in my last versions. It's not quite there yet, but it's forward momentum so that's always a positive

I'll have a story soon too...

Fleshed out some roughy 3d geometry as a base. Still not sure if this is the right composition, but I'll move forward with a bit of paint over and see where it goes.
