Hi there! I am Ethan, aka Arlot. I am new to the digital format and haven't drawn much in years so I'm looking forward to starting and documenting my journey! Feedback and critique is always welcome and will be much appreciated!

My First assignment finished! I am using a Huion HS611 Pen tablet and I am not used to it at all! I did number 1 using faster flick strokes because I was having a problem with my wrist getting a bit cramped if I tried to go slow. From number two I decided to go slower and using more elbow/arm as well as search for a comfortable spot on the tablet to place my pen and it seemed to improve a bit. My Pressure control feels like there is much to practice though!

Welcome to the forums! that was actually the first tablet I brought before I knew I wanted to improve/pursue art and I was more on a graphic design path. I was doing a lot of photo manipulation in PS as well, can't wait to see what you make in the future, and hope you enjoy the course.

My second assignment. I had the most trouble with the beach photo. If I got the color right, i'd have trouble getting the levels/curves right, then if I started with levels/curves, I'd have a hard time getting the color right. I did the best I could, but it's still off a bit. I'd like to come back to again in the future after gaining more experience with the tools!

I just passed trough this phase and for me the worst part was finding Mei's colors, I spent nearly 3 hours before finally being able to make it similar

Yeah, I put about 3 hours into it total as well with trying, then deleting all the edits I made to start from scratch. I finally got it to this point and called it so I could move on and not be frustrated. I do want to come back and try again after i've gotten some more experience though!

Here is my image combination assignment. So it seems simple but it was actually a lot more effort than I thought lol! I took my Karate photo and turned it into a silhouette so I could fight the other martial artist on top of this nice dock with a good sunset. I also had to give my own silhouette feet, so it was a really cool experience!

Adding more apples. I stared at this thing so long that I don't even know which apples are real and which are fake anymore. I don't think it's perfect but as my first effort, I think I surprised myself a bit because I was very doubtful about my ability heading into this project!

I kind of just stuck with Marc on this one and followed his example. Afterwards I played with the healing brush a bit more and added the bumps on the upper left of the face (our pov). Pretty neat what photoshop can do.

Honestly, I think I gave up a bit on this one. I felt I could get things into the basic shape of the target face, but everything kept warping and becoming disheveled. I think liquify requires a certain practiced finesse that I don't have yet, but hopefully in the future!
