Just discover the contest yesterday 
I'm really into magic, fantasy. I even did my senior project on magic lol
My professor was like, ".... this is an area I have no idea of...."

Since there's only a week before school starts and three days before my internship start, I don't want to be over complicated with myself. I saw some of the posts have many characters, I'm not sure if I can do that. So, I'll just focus on one.
It needs to be a female, since I'm suck at drawing male lol
So....(below is just my thoughts)
Female
Human / Elf (not sure, I love how elf have long and beautiful ears)
If choose human:
sitting at left corner, in a cottage doing something with her hand putting together
She probably is good at jewelry or knitting...
She is focus, she knows her stuff
her right side is facing toward audience; left side is fill with sunshine
....
I don't think jewelry is a good idea, since it's a contest I want to avoid anything I'm not good at if possible...
I'll use a mobile game for cloth reference
Also, since the canvas is large, I might be bored with only one corner scene...
I will think of others
For now,
I'll do the character sheet first for human and elf, and whether I'll choose one or both in the end...hmm... we'll see
