I don't think I'm going to make the extended deadline, and have only myself to blame. Lol. I like these contests because they make me tap into the creative vault inside my head, which I don't always put to use. Also, seeing the creative process of other artists is inspiring.
During the first month, I had an idea, but took a different approach. Initially I wanted this character to be a woman who was into fashion modern fashion (which would reflect in her attire) who happened to gain some kind of mystical/unexplained powers and abilities. I just wasn't sure how to piece it all together. The more variations I made the more her appearance became more, "old-world" or so.
So I wanted a modern design that fits within our reality. So I directly referenced Instagram models(and the stores they often promote). Anyway, I spent a few weeks trying to refine the appearance, and art style/technique. I finally found something I really like, but I don't think I'll make the deadline because I want to give it my all. And where I'm at in the process won't allow it. I'll still push and see how far I can go. If I do in fact miss the deadline, I'll create a separate topic of the final illustration if anyone is interested. I've added a mobile screenshot of my character's final design.
