This Oya's guardian is Dominique, a west indies woman. She's one of my OC. She uses the power of wind and lightning like her mistress. She vow to protect humanity against evil entities.
Even if she's one of my OCs, I never give her a combat outfit. Well, this is time.
So, my universe is an African inspiration. First, I searched for real African combat outfit or just traditional outfit for a base. I stop on three tribes, Djibouti, Imbas or Himbas and Omo tribe for a base.Dominique is small ( 1m56 = 5 ft 19 ), small breast, big hips and (slightly) muscular body. She's also agile and really strong. She can be devastating and out of control if she's not careful enough. I want to keep this idea of wind/storm. Her fists and kicks are concentrate with electricity. Now I have to think of something more practical for the battlefield.See you soon for WIP#2...
Hello, hello,I made some sketchs to capture the character in a kind of dynamic pose to help me to modernise the combat outfit from the " traditionnal " outfit I sketched before.
I try to keep that dynamism in an outfit and have this
It's a little complicated to have something functional and original. I tried . I really wanted to keep a certain African inspiration in the outfit. Dominique hit enemies with her right fist and protect herself with her left arms. I was inspired by dambe a traditional boxing in Nigeria. I thought that it was almost similar as the way she would fight. She's more like a glass cannon. Her punches and kicks are powerful, but she can be easily hurt. This is why she's always with her acolyte. She can't have a heavy armor because she needs to move really fast. .For the colors, I choose to stick to Oya's colors. Oops ! I just realized I keep talking about Oya, but I hadn't explained who she is. Oya is an orisha (kind of human/spirit/goddess in the Yoruba culture). She's the "goddess" of wind, storm, lightning, death and rebirth. She's as loved as she is feared. For now, this is the last WIP of the outfit, see you soon for WIP#5 ... Ciao
