I'm a traditional sculptor/artist that is branching out. I am very new to learning digital sculpting, so I'm considering this an opportunity to learn the software and make something fun.

Team Sci-Fi
I'm going a little crazy with my concept. Basically, it's a DNA and psychically linked Girl and Dinosaur that were part of a post-apocalyptic experimental program in an top secret (oppressive) government facility. The facility was taken over by the good guys and now Sara and Tops fight for them.

I'm kind of going for a Tank Girl meets Evangelion but with dinosaurs feel.

cool sketch i look forward to seeing your sculpts. i hope you find it easier switching to digital sculpting than i found switching to sculpey and polymer clays.

I did a quick sketch to help understand the head anatomy of Tops. She is loosely based on an Achelosaurus.

Then I started roughing out the head in ZbrushCore. It's slow going because I still rely heavily on tutorials, but I think I'm going in the right direction.

I'm using a museum picture of a Achelosaurus skull as reference and doing some reconstructive palentology

ok, major concept overhaul!

As I suspected might be the case, I'm in over my head. Regular work is pressing, and I don't have quite as much time to put towards this as I first anticipated... So I'm combining the two characters into one.

Some sort of dinosaur/human hybrid, same sort of genetic government facility creation, now fighting for the good guys in a post-apocalyptic future.

Here's a sketch:

Though the sketch still maintains a ceratopsian look, I hope to take it more into the uncanny valley hybrid territory.

Started building out the body. I want her to be built like a tank, so I'm referencing heavy lifters as well as rhinos and bulls.

Here's a close-up of the head before I started doing the body. I made the snout shorter to reference the mix of human DNA, and I'm also trying to make the face fleshier.

Currently doing lots of reading on zbrush to figure out how to tackle the post apocalyptic armor (Mad Max style, repurposed car parts etc)

Finally got around to hands and feet. Now I just need to learn clothing, texturing and armor. no biggie, right?

Unfortunately, we're coming to the end of this challenge, and I'm running out of time to continue learning in order to meet the deadline. While I know I'm ineligible to win, I wanted to share my final progress pictures.
