@malcom Beautifully said, Malcom!
Although I'd argue that he doesn't need to push it quite as much, considering his style is less realistic. If you want it to be more realistic, Ross Tran, Ahmed Aldoori are great people to start with. Honestly, it seems more like you're tilting towards marc's style, because of the "shapes" in her face, making it very cartoony, but it does feel very right.
I think this is really awesome, but it is kind of eventless. There is story, like this lady is looking at us while her arm is blooming up; perhaps powering up? Maybe there should be some interaction between them like she "noticed" that it was happening? Or at least give her a more ambitious expression?
And maybe you could add some more to her personality? This is great so far, but it is a bit bland. From her ears, we can determine that she is an elf-girl. Perhaps you should give her some trinkets or items or scars? She just seems kind of perfect right now.
And my last point would simply just be values! I love how your piece came out, its clean, stylized, interesting and its cool! This is something that I am also prone to doing, and that is having a very neutral color setting up. This is great when making matte textures, but the more this neutral light set up is used, the more boring it becomes. So, again, everything @malcom!
Going from grayscale to colors is as easy as using gradient map and some other combinations as well as fixing the colors afterwards! This piece was great!
