Hi guys! I like art, animation, illustration, all of it! Here to study the fundamentals so that I can level up my skill, which is why I'm a student at Marc's Art School. I'm going to try to complete a term a month, and practice figure drawing every day (as he recommended.)
(I'm using Procreate.)

If you have any critiques on anything I post, I'd love your feedback, because I'm here to figure out where I can improve.

To start off with, I'd like to share my one-point perspective assignment from Term 1 (January)! It's of my little art studio. Honestly I don't enjoy doing background perspective drawings as much as other things but because I never do them this is GREAT practice!

Yo, Snakker here, local noob. Gotta say, for someone who doesn't like making backgrounds you do a damn fine job!

I think I would try toning down the line weight on the right side or the opacity, as I feel it's a little strong on the eyes, almost like a moire effect
The clock ellipse is either slightly off or it's the lineweight that gives me that feeling, as it is in perspective, the minor axis would aim at the vanishing point and thus give it a slight tilt

those are the things I notice, but they are very minor, your background is really really good

cheers!

PS if it's artschool, you can just make a post on artschool forum and post all your work there

Thanks!! Yes I should probably reduce the opacity on the right side, I can see what you mean about the effect being a bit much on the eyes.
Technical things like clocks seem like they should be easy but mine often look wonky! It's definitely the kind of thing I should pay more attention to when trying to draw them.

Appreciate your feedback!
(and I moved this topic to the Art School forum thanks!)

Ok! Here are some of the figure drawing sessions I’ve had since starting in January. It’s been over a month of figure drawing almost every day and I really think I’m getting faster and my observation skills are getting better! Drawing realistic and proportionally correct people is something I really really want to get better at, especially since I am interested in getting into animation. All poses are from Line of Action.
Guys, am I doing this right? Lol

o

These are looking really good! The poses are really clear and expressive

18 days later

Sorry for being inactive last month! I got a little overwhelmed trying to finish a term a month so I took a small break. But I finally finished studying the head anatomy video from term 2.
Here are some of my notes…

OK SO
here’s a portrait I did BEFORE studying Term 2:

I know the lips look a bit wonky BUT I’m actually quite surprised at what a difference it makes when you know how to measure out things properly and you’re drawing with the different muscles and fat tissues in mind!! I feel like this has helped me to observe faces better. Really enjoying this school. ♡
