Fan art of the original pc game Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny (1992), first part of the Northlands Trilogy, featuring my recreations of the adventuring group created by my brother and me.
From clockwise top right:
Big Ulvar, from the viking-like culture called thorwallians.
Marcurus, a warrior worshipping Boron, the God of Death.
Llowaaln, the Silvan elf. Hunter and tracker, leads the group accross the lands of Thorwall.
Byontix, the druid. A sinister fellow, somehow always connected with the most laughable random happenings during the game.
Niemond, the magician. Was always involved with gambling and the reason the group had to hurry out of town.
Raog Stenwall, the dwarf. Knows his way around gold and mechanics.
And in the center: Hetman Hyggelik. The game is about the search for the legendary sword of Hyggelik, Grimring, the Blade of Destiny.
I have some really fond memoriese of this game. It features one of the best travelling mechanisms ever created for a PC role playing game.
I really miss these type of games where you made a whole group of adventurers, instead of a single destined hero.
As a bonus, an image of the original charcter portraits:
