Heya, first time posting on here. I didn't really want to post at all, but I started Term Two and figured now would be a good time to start journaling that journey and my thoughts along the way.

Hope I'm hitting the right button.
Anyways, after being confused and frustrated for noses for the past couple weeks, I gave them a go and boy are they difficult to wrap my head around.

Since I feel that Marc didn't really explain the nose well, I ended up scouring the internet for any other way to think about/construct the nose. I found that a guy named David Finch on youtube has a nice video on it, but I still don't feel like I quite understand what it is I am looking at or what the steps are I should think about when going to draw a nose. Maybe I just need the rest of the face to help sell it.
Not sure, this is a tricky one.

Great nose studies @lockpick54. I’m currently working on the nose as well, and I do find it easier to get a sense for for the nose with at least the guidelines of the face.

Nice work Lockpick I agree with @alwaysneedsleep I find the nose very difficult to study without a face personally. When I do my portraits the nose is the very last piece I draw. I think the big thing with the nose is to try to identify the bottom plane of the nose, where the nostrils are is the most important. You are doing well. Keep it up!

Mouths, I felt, were a little easier to see in my head. Again, I hope Marc revisits his teachings. I found myself asking things like, "What happens when I want to show emotion?" or "What happens when a mouth is opened"? Didn't feel like doing any digital practice this time around.

Wow, these are tough. Almost as difficult as noses, I guess its because its circular/spherical in nature. Not sure I like drawing digitally or rather, I like pencil more. Hopefully I can get more comfortable with digital later, and I am not looking forward to putting in the time to become comfortable lol. Hopefully when I start to put these puzzle pieces together it will show the weakest chain in the link or that they're all weak lol.
