Hello, I wanted to share in some way an artwork than I been doing for years. It started with a traditional hand drawing when I was a kid. I was obsessed at that time with the artwork from Final Fantasy and Soulcalibur style and I was trying to replicate that style but I failed miserably and eventually I put more effort and improved a little to show off my skills with my friends. However the series of characters I made are very dear to me since every one of them represent a part of my nostalgia from different videogames.
I made this Skypirate thinking in the concept of Ivy from Soulcalibur and the Captain from Treasure planet. I dreamt that in my story I wanted a strong female co leader with the naughtiness of Ivy.
The time went by and I left aside the joy of creating characters. So a few year ago I revisited the old drawing when I was a kid and saw the opportunity to revamp the artwork.
Taking the original concept that I made while I was a teenager as it shows as follow with not the best quality:
Now with my new knowledge and new technologies I made another concept based on the original drawing . Just before to continue by no means I am a illustrator so there has not been to much advanced in my art skills. I dedicate myself for a living to work with web design and graphic design so there is not much time to play around, but from time to time I like to do some creative artwork and I have increased just a bit my drawing skills.
So this time I revisited the outfit and the style as at that time I was more copying from other artwork and was not quite original and I came up with a new idea.
Due to work and grown up responsibilities the work has not been finished yet and the progress pretty much has stalled but I wanted to share the idea so at this point this is the new concept.
Aftre I while again I have applied colors but was not happy with the scheme so it was saved and satlled again until a new kick in gets me.
