  • Thank you! I finally cleaned that up. Meanwhile started 3 more ..I have a habit of taking too long to finish a piece, then I lose interest in it and just start something else. I found 8 from recently i started and abandoned, that are decent enough to not delete, but not finished. There’s also been a number of drawings I felt I “outgrew” - became better before I finished them, and it would be easier to start from scratch than fix them. Anyone else thinking that?
  • Lady Death Fanart Collectible: Part 6 Polypaint and base Hi, it’s time to share with you another part of the process to create this fanart piece. Polypaint As this is my first collectible fanart I didn’t have previous experience with polypaint so I tried my best and played a bit with it.I wanted to give a ghostly and eerie look to Lady Death, she is beautiful and deadly, but at the end of the day she is a woman that died and was reborn at hell as an avenging spirit, that’s why I gave her skin tone a bluish very cold tone.As you will see I gave myself some creative freedom to deviate from the traditional color scheme that this characater has in comics and illustrations. To add a bit of sensuality by painting some freckles on the face and the chest. The dark nature of this character was the perfect excuse to gave her a kind of goth make up, very dark shadows around the eyes, blue lips and fingernails. I know that the original character includes sexy red lips but I wanted this girl to have a sexy but at the same time creepy look, that’s why we can see some thin veins emanating from her eyes. The biggest chromatic change I did for this character is at the hair. Lady Death has a characteristic white weavy hair but in my fanart I decided to gave her a very saturated blue color. The reason behind this wasn’t only an aesthetic choice. I want that the face area strongly pulls the attention of the viewer so this area needed a stronger contrast. Another reason is that I want her to have a more modern look, as I mentioned before, I’m strongly attracted to women with goth/punk look. I gave myself half an hour or more to analyse the work of experienced sculptors that create collectibles and I discovered that the use of darker values on the skin is often applied to create a greater sense of volume and three-dimensionality. I found that areas with heavy ambient occlusion are the perfect places to paint with darker colors in order to increase the separation between different forms. Even though she has a bluish skin tone, I used a bit of warmer hues in areas that, in real life, tend to go towards red and pink, this is very obvious in the nose, cheeks, and knuckles. Thinking with a logical mind it’s completely absurd to have warmer tones on the body of a zombie like creature but I didn’t want to limit myself by using only blue tones, it looks boring and artificial. In real life these colors are created by blood vessels in areas where the skin is very thin. ** Scythe **for her weapon I applied a cool gray with some warmer variations, this color scheme is influenced by the work of H.R giger. Base I’d like to talk about the design for the base which, to be honest, I forgot to develop along with the character. My main idea with the base is to show that Lady Death inhabits a very sterile and arid land, at the end of the day she is at hell. You can see a that she walks over dirt and rocks, a sign that she’s surrounded by death and loneliness. As part of the landscape we can see some bones and skulls to reinforce the idea of lack of living creatures, yet we can see three hands that try to reach her legs. This hands represent that all creatures are subordinated to her power and seek an evil blessing with a simple touch of the princess of the damned.1- The hand with skin burns represents the souls of those who are newcomers to hell, tortured souls that suffer for the sins comitted on earth.2- The hand with greenish rotten skin and pustules is the reminder of the decay that has infected the souls of those who have been trapped and have forgotten their humanity3- Last but not least, the hand of a demon shows that even dark creatures and entities bow before her presence. The cherry on the top, at least in my vision, are the simese twins that emerge from the ground, this malevolent creatures remind us that in hell there’s only perversion and any trace of innocence is lost. Thanks for reading till this pointI’m really happy to be very close to finish this creative journey, last but not least it’s mandatory to talk about splitting the sculpture in several pieces to be printed, this will be my last entry before showing the final rendered images. See yaMay Zbrush be with you

  • Thank you @daceronine! If I remember I save in google cloud, I will have to stick a note to do it more often. Lamp is from life. Poses are from refs but I look at refs for a while and then try to do it myself and look it up if needed. Outfits and rest is from imagination Something went wrong while installing system so we will have to wipe everything again... pc works but something is wrong. We will wait till internet is done and I will save everything on cloud this time Threads came out in eu. It's been 3 days and I had more engagement than after half a year on instagram. It feels really nice I hope it stays this way A portrait of old dude. It's the same character I posted a while ago. Inspired by Bayard Wu work. At first I thought of him as a bear but I named him Fenrir and I think wolf suits him better. Eye gave me a bit of hard time but I think it is fine now. I focused on face and forgot about area below. The way I draw hair clashes with greying hair. I had the same problem while doing Lohse's white hair. Does it looks like it is greying here? I love how desaturated red looks blue there. I keep lying to myself that I will use different color scheme but It all comes down to this blue and yellowish one it is just flipped this time Have a great day!

It really bites to know I'm not going to be able to finish my creation by the deadline. Unfortunately, as a plethora of people know, life happens. I've got so many things going on, including preparing to leave for boot camp, and it just leaves me drained and unmotivated. I know I'm going to hate myself for not trying harder, but things are not in my favor. I've included my final progress for my project, in case someone might find some interest in it. It's not my last ditch effort to meet the requirements, because I know it doesn't, I just don't like leaving without closure.
Unless a miracle happens, this is my last update.

My current elected concept choice. His name is Telman, and he is a magic/clockwork sentinel bot Anyway. story time.

Telman was a robot designed as a sentinel for defense his "home" city of Braxus, a Steampunk-esque and somewhat dystopian society under a radical dictator hellbent on total control. In the city of Braxus, magic was a very present force, but it was limited to use by officers of the law, the higher-ups of society, and Political big-wigs. Often the politicians and higher-ups would bribe to officers and possess the sentinel bots to terrorize the underling citizens. Anyone deemed unfit for use, which was generally the middle and lower class citizens, was forced to have an implant in their right arms than heavily suppressed their ability to use magic. It was placed in their bone, so the only way to remove said implant was to amputate the arm. This removed the limiter, allowing the citizens unrestrained use of magic.
The politicians and dictator feared an uprising of citizens, hence the bone implants. It would be fairly obvious to spot those desperate enough to rebel. All metal constructed is put through mundane processing, which stamps out it's ability to conduct or cast magic, rendering prosthetics almost useless. The useable magic itself inherently is very unstable on the human body, so most practices out of practical means are forbidden to anyone for the sake of preserving the human race. Ironic considering that right-arm amputees are suspected to be rebels, and are killed on sight.
Now, Telman was an experiment on the standard sentinel unit developed by Robin Pearsson. A genius in his age, and, unfortunately, a friend of the dictator. Many of his political views were the same, and cared little for the underlings of society. So long as nothing affected him. Telman was the product in a what-if case of powering one of his sentinel units with magic, instead of steam, clockwork, and kinetic energy. Telman's core was crafted from pure magic energy, instead of a kinetic gyro. Rather unexpectedly, being the first of his kind in a one-off frame, Telman developed sentience, and a consciousness. The magic within him allowed him to think logically and discern between right and wrong. But the magic was still being accustomed to its new body. It followed the orders it was given, as it expected that it was what it was built to do. The consciousness continued to develop rapidly.
One day at a market plaza, on Telman's first test run, the officers decided that they would use him to strike a new fear into the citizens. Telman had noticed the other sentinels harassing civilians. Of his own volition, Telman elected that this was wrong, as the people did nothing to deserve the treatment they got. After dismissing the first command from an officer by ignoring it, they ordered him again, angrily. By this time, Telman had full control of his body, but kept the act and turned like the rest of the sentinels and said in his deep, processed voice,
"Why?" This infuriated the officers, who angrily marched Telman, the 8-foot sentinel bot back to Pearsson's office and complained that he had questioned the direct order of an officer. This surprised Pearsson, who shooed the officers away and attempted to work on the sentinel. Telman had also elected that he did not like Pearsson. When Pearsson attempted to access the inner working of Telman's head piece, Telman increased the temperature of the metal in his structure, making it intolerably hot and impossible to touch without receiving severe burns. Telman stood idle and said simply,
"Do not want." This also infuriated Pearsson, having burned himself already, who then had then called for guards to take Telman to storage with the rest of the reserve sentinels. He did not want this either, and after the guards had entered the room with the moving equipment, he grabbed the two of them and threw them out of the high window of Pearsson's mansion. He then grabbed Pearsson himself by the neck and immolated him into nothing but ash. Telman was about to leave the office, but then experienced curiosity. Something in one of Pearsson's display cases stuck out to him. It was a Kronus Fuse, a fuse meant for temporal distortion, and the only one in known existence. Telman took it with him while escaping the mansion.
Telman had hunkered down in a side of the city where people were few and far. On his way, a very human characteristic developed. Emotion, and guilt. He wished he had merely rendered the guards in the office unconscious, rather than murdering them. However, during the time of his escape, Telman had discovered how to install the Kronus Fuse to his core. Unexpected to even him, his core had absorbed the fuse instead, and had given him a new found power system. The flow of time would keep him charged, as well as minor control over the flow of time in his area. As he was in his fascination with his new powers, officers had swarmed into the alley he was occupying with the intent of destroying him. Following his self-established instinct, he unleashed an electric shock into the vicinity, knocking out all the guards. The mundane metal was un-obstructive to Telman's magic, giving him nigh-infinite ability. Telman had also elected that he had been tracked to his location, and had discovered the tracking device in his right optical receiver, or "eye". He was experiencing frustration, and anger, that someone would plant a device like that on him. He forcibly had removed the optical receiver and tracker, as well as a good chink of the side of his face. This was a lesson in carefulness, and consequence. He then crafted an eyepatch of sorts, which would also show that he was different than the regular sentinels.
Time passed and Telman had become a legend of sorts. The citizens had stopped fearing him as much, even after donning his mask, armor, chainmail cloak, and carrying a massive multi-weapon for combating officers, gangs, other sentinels, and striking fear into his enemies. Often times, he would attend areas of havoc, such as protests, riots, or cases of authoritarian abuse. He was like a sheriff, resolving issues and disputes, most of the time by casting a field of confusion, or amnesia that made people forget why they were rioting. Telman was a being of few words, but some almost find him to be kind, and soft at his core. Because of his ability and reputation, many rebel forces were established in perfect disguise under the dictator's nose. Telman was successful in the removal of multiple magic-suppressive implants from civilians, and using his own magic to accelerate the healing process. He then instructed all of his patients on the same tactic of healing magic, and spread the rebel message. Years slowly passed, and eventually the rebels had an offensive force large enough to overthrow the tyrannical dictator. Led by Telman, the revolution took to the dictator and was quickly successful. The dictator, was in chains and the people demanded his head roll. Telman was haunted by the day he had murdered two possibly innocent officials, but this one felt right, to end the tyranny of one who is unfit to live. Telman brought his huge blade high, and removed the dictator's head from his shoulders in one massive fell swoop. As time passed, a democracy was established, and civil life was substantially improved. Telman remained in Braxus, because there was still no shortage of human conflict, i.e. gang violence, hot blooded dispute, etc. The history books from then on always had a special section, and a story of a sentinel with self. Because where there was violence and chaos, it somehow ended without turning into full civil war. Because where there was conflict, there was Telman, the Peace Reaper.

As you can probably tell, I like to write too.

A couple things of design that might be asked, though his core is technically infinitely powerful, his body itself is mortal. His armor is magically imbued with time energy, which causes it to self-repair. He doesn't necessarily sleep at night, he idles in a daydream state until it's fully repaired. It could be asked why he doesn't just ascend himself to immortality, which he could viably do. But, it's kinda like the case with Deadpool; He thinks he's invincible, which makes him very cocky. Not really a characteristic I'm a fan of. Back to his armor, it repairs on a logical base, where it actually reduces Telman's magical ability, hence the need for a giant weapon, in the sense that it takes much longer to repair something than to destroy it. On his attire and the concept of fear, it's the guilt coming back to him. The day he murdered the guards haunted him forever, which led him to present himself an a fear inducing manner that would hopefully make "X offender" fear for their life so he wouldn't have to kill them. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but maybe someone will ask.

I know my hand drawing doesn't look fantastic, but I'd rather not spend 300 hours on just a concept piece (The end drawing will be digital however)

Great ideas and history, but the robot anatomy looks fragile. Look for some references.
