Hero Description
Maya is a hero born in the time of the Aztecs. She has an arm guard with the face of a god which gives her magical powers to protect. She emits a magical aura when she uses her powers (similar to Dr Fate)
Back Story
During an unstable period where natural disasters were constant, her people held offering ceremonies to the god Cizin, the god of destruction, to appease him. But no matter how many they sacrificed, he was still hungry for more.
Maya knew that the offerings her people are giving Cizin, will never be quenched of their greed, so she left her home to find help. In her journey she found a small hidden temple dedicated to an unnamed god.
In the temple was a furnace with strange coloured flames. Desperate to save her people, she prayed to the unnamed god, and walked into the furnace to offer herself as a sacrifice. However, she did not burn. She stepped out of the furnace unharmed and in her hand was a mask that gave her powers of the gods. With the mask, she now can fight against Cizin's unjust demands and free her people from death.
