Ahh thanks so much! I've taken part in art wars before, but I've never thought to create an ongoing sketchbook. I'm excited to show my progress and future work!
Cool! I'm really excited to see that too!
So I wanted to show a little more of what I've done, as I've also worked on comics and storyboarding! (Another passion driven from my storytelling). I've done some animatics too, so here're a few examples of the more story based works I've done
That's really cool! I love your page layouts
Damn, awesome stuff Rachel, I'll be following this topic Welcome to Cubebrush!
Ahh thanks so much guys!! @marc @cedricgo
I'll probably post all my art war stuff here soon as I want it to live on after the contest lol
i wanted to say i really like your art, specially the lines,i saw in IG your artwar, the lines were good but then as critique, i think the color destroyed the composition and went too messy
yet the work is solid and i look forward to see more
I appreciate the feedback! Yes you are right. I struggled for the entirety of the piece on clarity and readability. The very nature of what I wanted to achieve was a bit of a juxtaposition in terms of chaos and clarity.. Something I have to work on as that's always been trouble for me lol
Hi guys! I wanted to post all my art war work on here as I said I was a couple weeks back. I've also worked on a tonne of new concept stuff (I want to be a concept artist) mostly in regards to environments and photobashing that I'm using for my portfolio. I'll post those afterwards. I'm also going to learn blender in attempts to start using some 3D, I've been reaching out to a lot of different professional concept artists in the industry and some consistency in feedback has included use of 3D so that's something I wish to work on from probably tomorrow. I've dabbled in 3D before back in university, I used Maya and sculpted with ZBrush. However, I didn't really touch them after I left and of course I don't have access to those programmes now so I'm basically starting all over again.
Either way, here are all my art war things, and I'll make another post for my recent concepts!
And here are some recent concepts! Like I said I really want to focus on my concept career so I'm doing more photobashed realism stuff (aiming for Ubisoft kinda style eventually) and will incorporate more 3D once I start learning the basics of the programme! There're couple videos here too of the timelapses for these concepts
Timelapses:
Very nice! I've been wanting to dabble in more photobashed realism as well. Subscribed so I can peep at the time lapses when I have time.
haha thanks xD Yeah I have a few uploaded, I'm going to start recording more as well when I get a better workflow of my shapes!
Been up to a lot recently. Currently also going through the process of being interviewed for a job as concept artist! So super excited for that and been doing some artwork for them too. Otherwise, practicing a lot of hard surface recently, doing more environments, general designs, thumbnails and anything else etc. Also started learning modelling and done a couple things with that too!
So I guess about a month's worth of stuff. I did about 10 pages for the art test too, I'm hoping all be able to post her next week!
I also got featured in this month's ImagineFX! So I'm super happy and proud of that!
Mind blowing work here! Saw your stuff in Imagine FX, really cool to see your work on here Looking forward to seeing more!
Ahh thanks so much @SmilingMountain !
So again been real busy the past month. I did an art test for a company too which I can now share the work of! Started a new challenge and kept doing the cyberpunk studies and designs!
Rest of the painting fantasy head challenge I did! Started another yesterday but for sketches. Been busy with commissions and not going crazy, but I want to work on my designs and my style more. I want to start using this time to produce some more detailed and thoughtful designs too. I am incorporating mermay in some of these, but they're kind loose just based on what I feel like doing each day. I'm not following any particular theme either!
I also have some plans for a couple splash arts as well to put my recent painting practice to some use. I have a lot of ideas really haha as always
That's some pretty cool stuff! All of it
Very cool drawings!Do you use other artworks as reference? I am asking because that faun is very much the same as Katon Callaway's work https://www.artstation.com/artwork/nEqkr
Cheers
@thegrubber Sorry for late reply! I did yes, I didn't stick to every reference Ahmed provided as personally I found a lot of them incredibly similar and just kinda boring so I chose a few of my own!
@cedricgoThanks as always man!
More of the sketch a day may things, and some other stuff!
