Where do I begin?
First I'd like to say I've seen some phenomenal art from many of the contestants on here. I truly wish I started earlier and could have been involved more with the art community aspect. I've been drinking Monsters like water staying up late getting my entry done. Lol. I wish all of you the best!
Character backstory:
SYMERIAH (pronounced SY-MERRY-YA)
Thousands of years ago, Symeriah was a powerful, evil, sadistic priestess of sorcery. After more than 500 years of terror, valiant warriors and wizards united to banish Symeriah into the darkness. She was confined to a tomb, buried deep below the royal castle, where the tomb will always be guarded and protected.
All was safe for a thousand years. That is until massive, airships made of metal, with bright lights and devastating beams of energy destroyed the castle. From the ships came soldiers with weapons that shot out energy beams like the ships. All the people in the kingdom has never seen such a force, not since Symeriah ruled the land.
In the destruction caused by the invaders, the sacred seal of Symeriah's tomb was broken. Energized by the souls of the lifeless bodies that fell into the chasm, she emerged from the rubble, and began to annihilate these futuristic invaders.
In the midst of this war, the people wonder if they're in greater danger, now that Symeriah has awaken, than the initial threat of the invaders.
I didn't spend as much time on the concept stage as I should have, and it shows. 
Final Illustration. I pushed myself further than I have before to get this done, but it was quite a learning experience as well.
